Questions & Mysteries Why is Elbaf not affiliated with the World Government when they're not strong?

#1
What I think is, Elbaf giants behave like Wano people who are both extremely prideful. They also boast for not being affiliated with the World Government so I think they had a legendary figure with Black Blade who kicked WG out of Elbaf centuries ago and gave them a trauma like Ryuma. Predicting that Jarul is gonna lore dump this to Zoro before his power creep.

Elbaf giants are like vice admiral level and can be low diffed by the marines with the help of admirals if they invade them.

So this begs the question, why aren't they affiliated with the World Government?

How to kill the arc 101 :whitepress:
Well, with all we know so far it's pretty clear that they worship Nika (the Sun God) in some form, so they were probably important allies of the "Great Kingdom" back in the Void Century. As for why the WG didn't crush them outright, you already gave a good possibility: they might've had their own Ryuma (not necessarily a black blade swordsman, it could've been a giant top tier, like a giant WB/Kaido, something like that... maybe someone related to the Ancient Giants). We already have Loki, who's probably strong enough to fit the bill, so it isn't far fetched to think that there were one or more fearsome giant warriors in the past (maybe Jorul and Jarul were the ones from their generation? Although Dorry and Brogy look more like YC1s).

The WG would've probably been able to beat Elbaf in a war, but it would be too costly (and they were probably vulnerable too, supposing that the battle against the "Great Kingdom" was an extreme-diff).

Nika is a legend in elbaf, maybe the most important

Btw, elbaf is the strongest nation in the world, meaning that is even stronger than tottoland, so it's stronger than a yonko's empire
Just like Wano where they are touted as being fearful when it turned out it’s because of one man from centuries ago lol. Because they give off that similiar tone of being powerful, I think they got the title from a legend.

Just can’t picture them being the strongest nation in the world when they all get low diff by admirals.

He got chained and is still imprisoned so that gives an indicator of his strength. I agree it’s someone from Jarul’s era because of how they’re described as the hero of the pirates in plural tense. Also from last chapter, Ripley hyped them as legends from century ago.

Average giants are not VA level. Doll one shotted a great giant warrior pirate.
More the reason to question why WG with all their might haven’t touched Elbaf all those years.

Yeah but with Oden and Kaido, from what we know, that was true that Wano was really strong in the past 30-40 years

There was Kaido and Oden. They probably didn't know that Oden was already dead or if he joined forces with Kaido. Nor did they know if they had someone like prime Hyougoro sticking around. Akainu himself admits that they don't know how strong the Wano samurai are currently.

Again, they didn't know if Loki was imprisoned or if he was the current King of Elbaf (the holy knights teleporting directly to King Harald's castle is a indication that they bet on the latter)... his bounty suggests that he's an immense threat to the WG (it's higher than BB's first bounty, when he was already a Yonko) and, if the Elbaf warriors managed to imprison him, this means that they're pretty strong collectively (even without Dorry and Brogy). They also didn't know Dorry's and Brogy's whereabouts (or if they choose to support Loki).

Yeah, you can call them incompetent 'cause they have the Cipher Pols to gather info and all of that, but that's probably the reason.

Loki's bounty is 2.6. It takes combined might of elbaph to put loki down meaning they together have bounty of 2.6 as a whole dorry and broggy aside.

A yonko alone has 4B plus bounty on average.

So not taking Loki , dorry and broggy elbaph is valued at 2.6 as a whole.

Loki + dori + brogi + giants + gaban/shiki (???) are more than enough to face any single threat

In addition to that military force, there is shanks: we don't know if the world consider him someone who want to protect the island

We still don't know all elbaf's secrets, if it's considered the strongest, there will be a valid explanation for that

No military force in the world can face the marine hq, not to mention marine hq + wg, this doesn't contradict the fact that elbaf is the strongest nation

Because Dory and Brogy alone can take out one admiral which means they need to divert at least half of their military might to take out one nation which leaves MarineHQ and Mariejoa weakened and can lead to the other emperors making a play and destroying the entire marines.

Various possible explanations:

They are friends with Shanks.

Actually since not long ago they had both the firmer king and Loki, and Loki was for sure hella strong, maybe not to the point he required Shanks and the while nation to team up to defeat him still there he was.

Also even a fodder civilian giant is worth a lot of marines alone, if you put in a pirate then they can already lift a lot. Now they also have back Dory and Broggy and they did well in Egghead.

I wear Dior, not a fad, fad, fad, fad...

It's probably just an image thing at this point and mainly cultural.

But one of my theories is that Elbaf has shadow rulers with the Figarlands. They were just gone for centuries and are now comming back.

So there is some kind of affilation probably in the shadows.
