Break Week Why is Oda holding the Netflix live adaptation One Piece team at a higher standard than he held himself to in Wano?

How you even arrived at that conclusion is insane.

Hopefully it does get canceled, LA and One Piece are not compatible if they want to do a 1:1 adaption.
Because Oda is overseeing the show, he trying his best to inversion what the show can be at its best.
If Oda fails, it's means the series wasn't good enough. It means OP as a story wasn't captivating enough to draw interest for a second season. Therefore a flop.

Editor: “okay oda sensei you have two choices now:”

“1- draw weekly manga chapters and make money”

“or”

“2- take multiple breaks to work on some trash ass live action and make even more money”

Oda: “I choose the second one editor-san”

It's not just about weekly chapters but the main work of his life which made him famous and still is followed by many people

I don't know why oda is trying hard to make op popular in the west. He admitted himself that one piece strength is story not fights. He should let it go, west prefer fights that's why they like Naruto more.

Lolda really shouldn't be telling anyone else how to adapt shit after writing the endless atrocity that is Wano. How shameless of him. :lawsigh:

Was Toriyama part of the group who made the movie? I don't think so because in the imbd triva. It states that he was rejected with any creative ideas and all his suggestions ideas were mute.

Oda is playing a huge role in the RL series, his reputation is on the line. No matter how small it may dwindle, his series would be a flop.
Even in a hypothetical scenario where Oda had 100% creative control over the Netflix adaptation, all the flop would prove is that he cannot handle running a TV show which is hardly surprising since the skills for being a successful mangaka don't translate to being a successful showrunner.

His manga and anime audience are still going to be there. They aren't going to abandon the main medium for their favourite franchise just because a Live Action adaptation was crap, especially considering live action adaptations of anime/manga generally come with the expectation that they are going to flop.

In recent years Oda has been caring so much about popularity, he's insecure of one piece lacking the global influence like naruto has. He is unironically just like op fans in that regard. He wasn't always like this though and one piece was a lot better when oda just did his thing without caring about all this. Rather than pleasing his existing fanbase and giving them consistent chapters, he is more concerned in reeling in new people and shoving one piece down their throats.
