The freaking goat. I loved xiaolin showdown (we have ATLA at home meme), such a great cast, humour, music etc. We were extremely spoilt by multitudes, cavalcades of absolutely brilliant, inspiring, proudly weird but not always too obnoxious, hilarious, imaginative etc cartoons.
I refuse to believe Kidd wasn't inspired by Jack lmao. Kimiko my beloved too and Clay was dope and Raimundo as a better Sasuke /s.
Don't get me started on Megas XLR, the gurenn lagann of western cartoons lololol.
Seriously though, megas makes me think of the magnificence of franky, Kidd, gurenn lagan etc. mecha masculinity and madness or something.
Need to ask Oda if he's actually seen xiaolin showdown too.
Also btw the lead singer and captain of the band Abney Park kinda looks an IRL much older Kidd, hairstyle, googles and he's a steampunk goth airship pirate captain.
The band has their own universe with decades of lore, music, board games/TTRPGs, screenplays, novels etc. absolutely fan-fucking-tastic band. I associate some of their songs with one piece and thus characters like kidd, zoro, sanji, Shanks, mihawk, zephyr etc.
And yes the band is also steampunk airship pirates and gothic too lol. I can't recommend them enough I love them.

I have so many fond memories of cartoons growing up. I only got cable in like 2011-2012 so most of the shows I watched online like Ben 10 in 2007 Cartoonnetwork video. Best cartoon on back then was SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS. Bro I used to lose sleep just so I could wake up early and watch Kids WB. Because thats fundamentally what Roger states. Did you read his Wano flashback? One Piece 150% is a macguffin required to deal with Imu and save the world. Its why Roger couldnt use it and resolve the problem in his era.
So no, One Piece absolutely needs to be found first before Luffy can do anything about the WG. Whitebeard, Roger, and most recently Vegapunk all state this in different ways.
No one is talking about the treasure giving Luffy a power up bro. Its about toppling the World Government as a whole. It cannot be done without becoming Pirate King first.
