They aren't equal though zoro can one shot sanji
Zoros endurance goes far above anything sanji can dish out
Eos sanji can't do what zoro did on the roof.
So again how are they equals

Why didn't Oda make Marco fight on the rooftop even though everyone knows Marco is stronger than Killer and Kid?

Obviously, it's because there were 2 Yonko Commander, 6 Flying Six, Hawkins and a bunch of fodder that needed to be dealt with. There's also the fact that Sanji isn't a Supernova even though once again, everyone knows he is more than strong enough to be but for storytelling purposes he is not.

Zolo's endurance is high but let's not act like Sanji (with RS) didn't just take 0 damage from King's attack with lethal intent. In any case Sanji's endurance has ALWAYS been comparable to Zolo's, go reread Skypia, Thriller Bark, Enies Lobby, etc.

Sanji currently is ragdolling a YC2 and just neg-diffed a YC4 in the process, if he develops advanced CoA and Barrier Haki he could replicate those feats

Sanji not being on the rooftop is because, just like Marco, story wise it is not necessary for him to be, and detrimental if he did since there are literal YONKOU COMMANDERS that need to be dealt with.

The fact King is Kaido's strongest subordinate and a swordsman to boot is a dead giveaway he's Zoro's opponent. Add in Zoro being Ryuma's parallel, who pursued a swordsman named King in Wano, and it's not even a debate on who gets King anymore.
