Luffy barely entered YC1 class after defeating Katakuri, if he could go from being a one-shot material to being able to partially match Kaido with adv.COA and CoC coating, then someone stronger than him would do that as well with the same power-ups. Don't act like Luffy got some nice-to-have abilities and matched Kaido or something, he's got two major power-ups and was still weaker than him.

Living in Nw as top YC yet haki isn't even as good as WsW

No amount of excuses is gonna save him from the fact that he lost to someone as weak as WCI Luffy when King and Queen lost to people as strong as current Sanji, Zoro, and GB.

Luffy barely entered YC1 class after defeating Katakuri, if he could go from being a one-shot material to being able to partially match Kaido with adv.COA and CoC coating, then someone stronger than him would do that as well with the same power-ups. Don't act like Luffy got some nice-to-have abilities and matched Kaido or something, he's got two major power-ups and was still weaker than him.

No FS Luffy isn't the one that barely matched Kata

Jozu was destroying aokiji until something distracted him, blocked mihawk and destroying crocodile the plot armor god at MarineFord

Ace clashing with aokiji (aokiji had superior df), as well as battling with blackbeard who was debatably YC1 (yami only) which negated aces main way of fighting, dont forget clashing with yamato an acoc user, who was able to clash with kaido (more mega feats in his canon novel as well)

Vista, mihawk considered him a man he needed to know about in the swordsmanship world due to his great strength and prowess

Oden, ....

Izo, damaged kaido showing he is atleast tobiroppo level aswell as trading blows with a cp0 agent, which ended in both being knocked out

Rakuyo, no longer in his prime at MF but was still confident to attack kizaru as well as clashing with Roger Pirates

Curiel, survived akainus magma and fought moria who is atleast tobiroppo

Kata fought almost fresh Luffy , trashed him...oda nerfs Kata twice (no fs vs Boundman for sometime & No awakening and mogura + self stab) and Luffy still doesn't win with his punches.
While calamities get to fght Nerfed Zoro (distracted by enma) and nerfed Sanji (having inner issues with his genetics stuff and was already injured by Maria pre that)

You can't find a place Kata lost or was dominant when both fought at their best

Katakuri is literally 1-2 PU from Yonko level lol
he is ~ 5th Emperor Luffy who was 2 PU from Yonko level.

Kata with adcoc or adcoa ~ Top tier /Admiral level

If Bounty determines how good Luffy is compared to the other YCs, then what does that make Katakuri compared to Queen? Bounty doesn't just magically start mattering when it projects your agenda. Beating Katakuri was one of the many reasons why Luffy was termed the 5th Emperor. And anyone with a half-working brain knows half of those were exaggerated lies. Imagine, using that as hype to elevate Katakuri when he was literally termed as just another commander of Big Mom alongside Cracker of all things.

King at least has the excuse for not being able to utilize his innate abilities and he's still recovering from the previous battle.

Well, if you use that brain for a bit, then you'd know your CoC is relative to your overall strength and that Luffy and Yamato have different baselines before they acquired CoC. Luffy was already hitting the YC1 class before he acquired Adv.CoA, which made him one step closer to being a top-tier. So Luffy was already in close proximity to Yamato even before he mastered CoC coating, and that made him go well beyond Yamato.

King is far stronger than Luffy before he acquired Adv.CoA or adv.COC, so if you give him those power-ups, then he'd naturally hit higher levels than the person that was weaker than him before the power-ups. That's as simple as 1+2<1.5+2.
