yes killer isnt at 100% because of the smile fruit, luffy who has been beaten many times before and getting the snot kicked out of him many time in the past because of that getting his ass kicked by katakuri didnt change his mental state.
but killer is getting forced to only show positive emotion and most likely the reason he laugh so much because every time he laughs he gets angrier every time but only thing he can do is laugh, how would that effect someone mental state.

Fact Form Manga is That Soldier That Eat Failure Smile (Pleasures) Are Stronger Than Normal Soldier That Didn't Eat Simile not Only Failure Smile wont Nerf Any One but it's Also Power Up (To Some Degree)

Was Killer Nerfed Because of Torture? Maybe But Base of What Hawkins Said in CH954 it seems that He Wasn't Tortured
he wasn't in right Mind? Maybe But also Hawkins Didn't recognized Zoro and Called him ZoroJuru Like Killer After he see Luffy Then he Recognized Them
he didn't Have His Usual Weapon So he Was Nerfed? Possibly You Can Make argument For Both Side Personally i think he Could Fight better With his Normal Weapon

if both of them wasnt nerfed personally i think Zoro Would Win Mid Diff With Out using 3000World,1080p and Asura

so what your saying you cant see how unable to show any other than a positive emotion and having a uncontrollable laugh hinders someone in a fight, when your in a fight if someone isn't in the right head space yor goner have time withit.
This isn't headcanon luffy couldnt hit katakuri until he gets inrage by people seeing what he does at snack time and because he was so inrage and contrasting on keeping calm and concentrate on using his CoO luffy was able to hit because of this.

the fruit makes him only express positive aka laughing that killer hates , its a cycle he gets angry because that he cant control his laugh but because of the fruit he laughs even more so his headspace isnt in a good place that matters in a fight escpailly with CoO because what we saw with katakuri unable to use CoO while distracted/angry.
are we talking about hungerless no holds barred fully boozed up drunken wife beater wearing Asura bandana Zoro with 3 meito and a kimono?
if not, then Zoro was obviously nerfed too.
Killer was clearly out gardening in the winter with his scythes. that was nowhere near full power Killer.
the Daft Punk mask alone adds more lethality than the bandana.
both were nerfed. both are shallow characters and both will be way stronger the next time we see them fighting.
