Yup! Blackbeard Pirates/Im (World Government) could still carry the weight of being the most epic/important battles in the series, but I feel like Shanks would carry the emotional weight to give the series the best send-off possible. It really loops the series back to the beginning in a great way tbh.

For me he is the final antagonist to surprass roger. Because imo roger = shanks, rp = rhp (and garp = dragon).
But luffy has to surprass roger because he has to achieve something which roger couldn't. As it is the job of joyboy aka luffy.
To defeat imu + gorosei.
Imu>gorosei>roger,garp,wb,admirals etc.
Otherwise it just doesn't make sense, how for 800 years the tenryubito didn't fall. I mean, if the admirals were the strongest the wg has, then what if they came to the idea to get rid of the tenryubito?
What could stop them? Nothing.
The reason why they rule for 800 years is simple, imu>gorosei>admirals.
Which makes sense, since the ancient kingdom fought and fall... against whom? Marines? The kings and armies of the 20 kingdoms? Unlikely. In op numbers means nothing (haki), so there has to be people who are strong enough.
That is why, I believe imu = joyboy (aka luffy eos).
And that the marines wouldn't even be the final antagonists at the end of op, where the whole world will be at war. I can't see the admirals, va etc serving the tenryubitos 🤷♂️
So at the end, it will be the tenryubitos vs maaaaaaaaany maaaaaany people, led by luffy.

Oh and bb will be the second character to surprass roger/shanks by defeating him, so before/in raftel luffy vs bb to determine who will go against the tenryubito. As I see it, bb and luffy are characterwise their counterparts and as such their ideals will clash, while luffy will want to free the whole world, as he seeks freedom himself, bb will want to control the world himself, by overthrowing the tenryubito.

I don't think Oda would go for it if you want my opinion...
I think that Shanks plot will involve Xebec... that's been my belief for a long time...
where I think Xebec is Shanks father
And that The next war arc will be:
SH + Red Hair vs Rocks NEW pirates + BB pirates
And that Shanks will be someone with hesitation in that arc facing his father
Also, it will be:
Luffy + Idol vs BB + his idol
And I believe eventually, Shanks and Xebec will fall first, and leaving Luffy vs BB for the final show down
I do not see Kidd involved

I say no for 2 reasons
First is obviously luffy as he's not gonna just let kidd try to assassinate shanks. No where in and universe should kidd be able to take on the sh's and RHP.
Second reason is i don't think kidd or his crew will be on par with the RHP. Off bat it's questionable if kidd can even reach top tier status. Even if he does only killer looks like he'd fall somewhere in the yc levels. Shanks has 2 top tiers if ben lives up to his portrayal, 2 high end yc, and quality vet crew. The gaps in power are to huge.
Only way i see him possibly doing it is if kidd allies himself with bb and they jump the RHP. But kidd already said he's done with alliances. It has to be something like now how he's semi helping the wano alliance where him and bb just happen to attack shanks at the same time.
