It all depends on Marketing.where does oda and SJ stand to make the most money. Kizaru was used to hype Shanks to sell merchandise. Luffy merchandise will sell regardless so I don't see liffy making a fool of Kizaru who has to be the coolest action figure out of the admirals.

You have to remember that Luffy technically "clowned" Kaido when he first awakened as well

That's the problem a lot of people had with the fight. They don't like how it killed the tension, at least to them

Kaido regained control of the fight later on but it was looking pretty rough for him at first
