As we all know, Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji purposefully represented the primary colors, red, yellow and blue
Fujitora’s color is purple, and Ryokugyu’s color is green. Purple and green are secondary colors, with orange being the third and final secondary color. However, Kizaru represents yellow instead of orange, so he will have to be removed from his position prior to Fuji or Ryo in order for the secondary color trio to be completed
The previous generation of Admirals (Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji) were all Logias, which was clearly done on purpose by Oda. So with Fuji and Ryo taking Akainu and Aokiji’s positions, and Fuji being confirmed as a Paramecia upon his intro, many people speculated that the new Admiral DF pattern would be 1 Paramecia (Fujitora), 1 Logia (Kizaru), and 1 Zoan (Ryokugyu). However, I don’t think we can really include Kizaru in this pattern since, as previously mentioned, he’s already a black sheep amongst the current Admiral roster due to being a primary color instead of a secondary color, so we can’t necessarily count his Logia as a part of the pattern. If he’s already throwing a wrench into the color pattern, then he’s probably also throwing a wrench into the DF pattern
Therefore, Ryokugyu isn’t required to be a Zoan in order to create a neat pattern. He can have any DF type. He can be a Logia, and the Orange Admiral would be a Zoan in order to create a 1 Paramecia, 1 Logia, 1 Zoan pattern. Ryokugyu can also be a Zoan, and the Orange Admiral can be a Logia in order to create a 1 Paramecia, 1 Logia, 1 Zoan pattern. Ryokugyu could even be a Paramecia, and the Orange Admiral would also be a Paramecia in order to create a Paramecia trio of Admirals. The new generation of Admirals (once fully realized after Kizaru gets replaced) will represent the secondary colors and be all Paramecias. Lastly, there is one Admiral that we have neglected to factor into this pattern, Sengoku. We know Sengoku is a Mythical Zoan, but we don’t know what abilities his two unknown Admiral colleagues had during his time as an Admiral. Perhaps those two were also Zoans (and probably mythical at that), and the old gen of Admirals were all Zoans. This could be revealed in a Rocks, Roger, Garp, or Dragon flashback. Therefore, I speculate that the grand Admiral DF pattern was: the old gen were all Zoans, the mid gen were all Logias, and the current gen will be all Paramecias. The Zoan, Logia, and Paramecia pattern, instead of being represented by Ryo, Fuji, and Kizaru, is instead represented by the 3 generations of Admirals
