I think Nintendo should definitely use the recent popularity of the Switch 2 to create an "X" version which is more powerful than the recent Switch 2, max clock speed of the Tegra T239, Ampere and full use of all 8 cores. Or even a more powerful CPU and GPU. Why is it that underclocked in the first place?
The hybrid handheld is strong, true, but the support of 3rd party games might struggle with upcoming AAA titles again. Cyberpunk 2077 is 5 years old and despite being a CPU demanding game, oncoming AAA titles will be even more demanding to run. I don't expect Switch 2 to be able to run something like GTA 6 but would it be able to run Witcher 4 like the PC handhelds? Most of them are already stronger and DLSS isn't magic.
I mean, it isn't unusual for Nintendo to develop a more powerful version of the current handheld. Ie. 3DS and New 3DS. Idk if Nintendo plans to do a Switch 2 OLED due to the screen supporting VRR. The dock doesn't support VRR so I think the next version might change that as well.
