Character Discussion Yamato has too much going for her to not be a SH

The 10th titanic captain was revealed to be kuzan which makes her chances of joining the crew zero and Luffy saying he wants 10 members doesn't mean yamato is the crew it could be anyone else or not even a 10th member.

Yamato isn't even unique we had Tama who wanted to go out to sea with Luffy as well.

You have Jinbe calling her out when yamato declares to join the crew.

Then there's Yamato being setup as the guardian deity of Wano

Or how Oden biggest mistake was turning his back on Wano

--Tama's thing was reference to kid luffy asking to join shanks crew but the later told they were too young for it. And it is not highlighted as much as yamato.

--Luffy at the end was angry that yamato changed her mind about not joining the crew meaning luffy absolutely wanted her to join.

--That is flawed tbh. Yamato by herself can hold a top tier but will eventually get defeated. If WG decided to send 2 admirals then she can't do anything. Its BS last minute change. Oda could have simply made momo much more powerful.

I remember that the captain Luffy has an open invite for Yamato, and Yamato made it clear she still wants to join but can't just yet.

If you think she's dead in the water you just don't trust Luffy or Yamato to keep their word, and follow their dream (respectively). Silly imo.

Yamato has no dream to follow. Momo and Kinemon have the same open invitation and Momo was even more focused on the goodbye so is Momo also joining??

Yamatos staying in wano.

"I still want to leave with you guys" "I want to go out to sea like Oden did" "I want to be like Oden". And Oden tagged along on the pirate kings crew for the last stretch.

"Yamato has no dream to folow"... Are we reading the same manga?

That’s not a dream lmao. A dream is:
Becoming the pirate king, becoming the WSS, map of the world, etc.

A dream is a tangible goal they can accomplish. Yamato has no tangible goal. Shes not joining. That’s why oda left her in wano.

Brave Warrior of the Sea. Social Justice. Reading some fucking stones brah, The All blue aint even real yet. Yamatos dream can be sailing the sea like Oden.

Can you read the story before you say something else silly?

Usopp becoming a version of him he defines a brave warrior of the sea -> Tangible goal that shows when it’s done

An end to Fishman Discrimination -> Tangible

Finding the truth to the world -> Tangible

Discovering a dream -> Tangible

All of these dreams have a moment where the straw hats can accomplish their dream. Sailing the seas isn’t a dream lmao

So... inner development is "tangible" but inner development via sailing isn't tangible.... Its not like Laughtale is a tangible destination for her to finish her dream. Anyways its clear you're one of the people who thought Jinbei wasnt joining, and I'd rather not have that kind of debate again.

She'll not be a SH but she will "join" them like Carrott did. As an ally and she will be there when Luffy becomes PK just like Oden was present in Laughtale when Roger became PK.
I count it as joining because of the invite, but I can see why someone wouldn't count her as a full member if she did just hop on for the remainder.

Tangible as in the dream has a real object that can be used to say this dream is completed. Yamato has no such thing. And obviously jinbe was joining. Yamato just isn’t

I always maintained from the start that she wasn’t joining. Others have mentioned plenty of reasons from her being too strong, having knowledge of Oden’s journal, guardian of Wano etc…but I’d say her abrupt intro in the 3rd Act of Wano was already a good indicator it wouldn’t be a long term thing.

You just don’t introduce a mainstay of a cast in such a offhand, haphazard way. It just gives every impression of an afterthought rather than a well-planned insertion.

I know there were fan wars fought over this and I hope it doesn’t reignite anything, but even Carrot made more sense tbh. Still good that neither joined.

Question is about Oda as good or bad writer and mangaka. So much spending panels on filler character in manga, stealing so many panels that straw haw crew needed?!

I don't like Yamato, but for the sake of story she should join
