Character Discussion Yamato is the damsel of this arc and you’re gonna be disappointed if you think otherwise...

Yamato reminds me very much of Vivi
A strong princess that people 100% think will join the crew, but in the end, she'll be good friends with them but will also stay in her country
He has Kaido's DNA in her. It's 100% understandable she is very strong and having CoC is a quite good probability too
But no, she is not not joing the crew
Yamato is just another Shonen fanservice character. Oda had no need to give her sideboobs if she was indeed another serious fighting character
She is a strong female, of course, but also one Oda makes degens fap to and lure thir attention to the series, exactly like Reiju was
But also she has more of a backstory, she has a unique peronality, so she reminds me of Vivi
Even with Vivi we got a shitton of fanservice, going as far as seeing hr and Nami n the showers

The only gag that really gets on my nerves is Sanjis simping. Not becuse it is not funny, it actually is, but because sometimes it becomes plot relevant and the dude almost died from a nosebeed because he shaw mermaid boobs
If Zoro's getting lost gag was ever extended to a point he gets seriously injured of puts his crew in danger because he turned the wrong way, it would get annoying too
but anyways, its not bout Yamato's gag I think, it's just that she is an echhi fanservice princess that even though intereting is not crew material and will 100% be forgotten by the plot though she will alwys be in some fans hearts

Whole heartily agree, I actually like the concept of Sanji being this archetypical cool, calm, collected gentlemen that contrast with him being a total moron around women in reality. Oda just takes it too far. Fishman Island is the worst case of a gag gone too far in One Piece history, but at least the end result was it set up Luffy & Jimbe’s transfusion. Not that I don’t really wish Oda found another way lol. Sanji’s gag is good in small doses, though I could do without nosebleeds period.

Foxy Silver made me drop the manga the first time I read it in 2008
It wasn't until Luffy punched the tenryuubyto and my high school friends hyped me to pick it back up I started reading it again

Remember Bleach when Ichigo lost his shinigami powers after Aien, but got superhuman supernatural powers anyway, then proceeded to fight with these new found powers agaisnt a supernatural crew and the leader of that crew has a bookmarker for a weapon?
Yeah Shueisha animated that and it obleterated the anime adaptation. Killed it. To this day, Bleach is 100% gone and the last Arc agasint the Quincies were never animated.

Yamato hasn't been a princess and if she was she isn't at all like the other princess so far. Hiyori is the closest thing to a princess this arc. Yamato is about to fight kaido I don't know how anyone calls that a damsel especially if she can push him to mid diff which is a current luffy level feat.
