I disagree that Zoro confronting Kaido has no obvious character benefit for Zoro.
But I've made the case that it's important for Zoro's character in several other threads.
Here's the big one:
Zoro's need to confront Kaido again due to his connection with Oden via Enma:
Zoro's need to confront Kaido again due to his connection with Ryuma:
A summary of the above two arguments:
Here's the argument that Kaido must die:
If ever there was a burden of proof to meet, I have 10,000+ words and a 100+ manga panels to satisfy it.
Your response does not address the arguments I've raised at all.
Your claim that Zoro fighting again must necessarily be incredibly contrived reveals a lack of imagination (nothing suggests that Zoro needs to go to the Rooftop to confront Kaido again), and it's not even a sound argument regardless (people argued that Yamato heading to the Rooftop after Kaido had moved downstairs made Yamato fighting Kaido to contrived to happen).
Your claim that Zoro is obviously done doesn't ring true either. Especially when Zoro still has multiple unfinished plot lines.
Analogising ZKK to "2 + 2 = 5" is nothing but hubris. It's nowhere near as clear cut as that.
And even then, you can prove that 2 + 2 != 5, but you can't do the same for Zoro killing Kaido.
Kaido needs to die after all, and Zoro is the one best positioned to execute him.
But you've clearly never engaged with any of the arguments I've raised.
Honestly, I don't really care if you're sold on ZKK or not.
I don't intend to force you to accept it. I acknowledge that it can be wrong.
But this stunt you just pulled? It's
insulting.
