an Anime, stating: "Who needs to watc a bunch of anime anyway" is bizarre.

Just stating that you don't need to watch a bunch of anime to have an opinion; because anime isn't the be-all end-all of life and leisure.

You can watch 3 anime and think Naruto is the best.
You can watch 1300 anime and think Naruto is the best.

I don't see how me reading one piece is a contradiction to this?

Oh, I understand your point now, but how can you state that something is the best if you have nothing to compare it to?
Specially making a blanket statement making it look like it is somewhat objective.

Also if anyone watched 3 random animes he'd probably see 2 animes better than Naruto.
