I really don't get it, if I want to exile myself


I have zero issues with debating people. and nor do I think people should be banned if they're wrong. But it's a little different when you literally vote on a poll whose condition is the losers will be banned.

Where is that poll where the loosers will be permanently banned?

Yes that's exactly what I meant, I'm willing to stick to the requirements of the bet even if the admins aren't willing to enforce it. And yet I'm getting dragged through the thread, getting called a 5 yearold, unwilling to debate, getting accused of hating democracy simply because I want to live up to a bet that only affects me? Like wow. It's not like this leaving this site is actually gonna affect my life or something.

As someone who doesn't believe ZKK will happen, how do you feel about these phrases from the Vivre Cards and the magazine?

When I joined this forum, I didn't believe in ZKK. But these were some of the first things (among many others) that persuaded me, because they seem so explicit to me.

Especially since the VC and magazines have hinted at future events in the past, a recent example being Kaido's drunk forms

The vivre card translation was wrong, it was corrected by native Japanese speakers in the vivre card info thread

The magazine is written by fans and not anyone who works on one piece.

As for the third quote, the fox said it himself, Ryuma had many legends staying the dragon is just one of them. The fox put the most emphasis on him defending this country of gold from pirates and those who wished to conquer it (like the WG is set to do now)

None of these are necessarily proof.

^ I think this part is taking some liberties here tbh, and the translation I got from @Shift (whose wife is Japanese iirc) was:

"now attacks Onigashima like a demon hunter rather than a pirate hunter. As one of the Worst Generation who will lead the next era, his role will be to engage in a violent clash against two of the Yonko...!!"

It’s a weird sentence and doesn’t translate neatly. I don’t do literal translations and neither does Viz but I can shed some light on it if it’s important.

退治 - exterminate/eradicate

If the VC used something like 狩る (hunt) instead then yeah I’d say demon hunter. But it’s saying something more like he came to Onigashima just to exterminate oni instead. I don’t like translating Oni as demon either, they’re more like a cross between demons and ogres.

Yeah the thing with VC is typically the summaries are designed to tell you about things that have already happened since editors are the ones that write them and major plot points being spoiled in them is… weird.

However, with this vivre card taking place not long after Zoro was forced to take place in the Ice Oni fiasco I think the information from shift about “fighting like an oni hunter” makes more sense since he did have to fight through the oni and apoo to get the cure.
