Speculations Zoro has Oni blood from his mother

This chapter kinda solidify this for me.

First I though that Oda was comparing Zoro to Kaido and Big Mom for joke or to Say he is just emperor level now.

But After carefull study, I think it was a forshadowing for a Big reveal about Zoro's lineage.

This also explain why WE didnt got any baskstory on Zoro in Wano. Its because there are still some piece missing.

-Green Kaido
-Green Mom
-Oni

If WE create a sentence with these three WE will have Green Oni Mom like Kaido.

Offcourse, Zoro isnt a Mom so this Can only be about Zoro's mother.

Zoro got his green hair from his Oni Mom.

I think Zoro's Mom look like Yamato with gree hair.

Zoro's father a shimotsuki has a child with a green Oni woman. And that is child is Zoro.


Also In Rooftop, Zoro's attack cut one of the Horn of the Geant Oni skull while Kaido's attack cut the other Horn.

It was Oda's way to forshadowing again Zoro's relation to Oni.

Zoro's monstruous physical strenght and tenacity plus endurance. His sarcastic tendency and love for pain.


This explain how

-Zoro was able to survive Mîhawk's Sword strike while fighting Arlong's men later even After his wound was reopened.

-Zoro's Savage aura and bloodlust.

-survived Mr 1's constant attack and having the strenght to stand UP again constantly.

-took Luffy's pain back in thriller Bark on top of the damage he Already recieved against Orz and After the Gauntlet.

-Stopped Hakkai with broken Bones while having enough strenght to cut Kaido.


-Survived the 2×Pain medecine. Even the Reaper couldnt kill him.

Asura is also likely linked to this Oni stuff. And I'm 100% sur that Zoro's Oni gen is still dormant and he has yet to awaken it like Sanji with his Germa and Luffy with his Nika fruit. When he dozs his strenght will increase massively.

Some will Ask why Zoro dont have Horn? It might be simply because he is not an Oni per say but an hybrid between Human and Oni.

Also I think Asura is Zoro's spirit manifestation and is incomplet. So WE have yet to see a Fully mastered Asura.

Zoro's closed eye might be another mistery related to his Oni blood and an CoO God like Mihawk 's Hawkeye.

It would explain why he has those parallels with Kaido about Land, Sea and Air. :sanmoji:
There can be a totally different background about Zoro than what we expected in Wano.
However, Oda seems to be too much of a pussy to do anything that will take away from Luffy's spotlight.

Yeah, still its just a speculation.

The way Oda didnt explain Zoro lineage in Wano is too suspicious and then these comparison this chapter.

If Wano taugh me anything its that with Oda you never know.

Whatever Oda is planning with Zoro, I'm prepared to accept it.

Good thread. I have been thinking the same. That was a strong foreshadowing, particularly when Luffy called him "a Oni"

His abnormal healing rate has been highlighted since Buggy arc =>

Zoro has been referred to as a beast several times, for example, by Kaku, and by Apoo. Out of those, Ryuma's dialogue stands out =>
Ryuma: You do seem so very STRONG...
I feel some queer, unrecognizable emotion welling within me.
Almost like I've stared down some enormous creature...
A strange, exciting feeling...!!

Then he gets all those strange beast aura's during his fights that no other One Piece characters get =>





I'd be hardly surprised if one of his parents turn out to be from Oni race.
