General & Others Zoro s confirmed to be the deuteragonist.

Roronoa-sama

Magic Sword, Magic Swordsman, and Can Cut Anything
Zoro has countless goofy moments he just knows when to be serious Loda couldn't make it more clear who the real parallel is

Zoro ain't Sasuke, Killua, Vegeta

He doesn't even thrive for the same goal as Luffy
He's never taken down any major villain of the arc and won't do
He hasn't been the main guy of the arc since what? I don't even remember
He's not Luffy's RIVAL !!!
of course he is rukawa:milaugh::milaugh::milaugh:

He's not the 2nd most important

If he was, he'd be treated differently when Law and Kid are around, and not be just another underling

When you start realising concepts pr what Oda wished to do and what he's done are two different things then you'll understand
Take your complaints to oda because he said it.

Until then, it doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks, oda words are facts and we have to go with it.

You can be in denial like few others and be salty or be a man and admit you were wrong and go with what author says.

It's really surprising how much insecure people got just because oda said Zoro is second most important character which was obvious from the beginning...lol

Classic two piece readers...

Believe in headcannon

And, when oda shatters that bubble

They either start questioning the author himself or translator lol

- Eiichiro Oda recently "Around this time (before OnePiece), I was proud of having already imagined a character like Luffy as the main character. Next, I thought I would like to make a supporting character into a main character. I believed that if we had two main characters, we would be able to secure a serialization spot. Ryuma is that character, created with the aim of being the "#2" main character." (Translation :

I have never actually understood the Zoro hate, people talk all about things like character development, personality, conflicts and shit but at the end it just seems to boil down to Zoro being stronger or confirmed projected to be stronger than their fave and the hate is simply due to power scaling.

@nik87 your three triggers argument grows even stronger

OP definitely wouldn't be as popular as it is today without Zoro.

The only other character who'd impact OP's popularity is Luffy. Any other character has negligible influence on this matter.
In term of impact yes, Zoro is important. But not in the story.

Relatively* he is very important, but his role is less of a pivot than others.

I think initially zoro carried the series.... Luffy was boring for majority case.
Absolutely not.

There is - granted - a big Zoro fanbase. But the impact of the story is not really that determined by the presence of Zoro. There are a LOT MORE factors before Zoro to keep the fanbase going.

Luffy was boring for majority case.
For the wannabee haters of worstgen maybe. But Luffy is the hearth of the story. Its through him that the big moments are shining.

The testosterone niche of Worstgen is not representative of the overall fanbase.

One Piece would lose in quality without the presence of Zoro, but One Piece would not be possible and be popular without Luffy.
