Dude had Akainu shitting his pants when he arrived after blocking his attack. Not even Mihawk was ever gifted that presence. And its sad that when Oda highlights Zoro over Sanji (to which some call him a Zoro wanker, the mangaka...), people ignore the complete and irrefutable fact that Shanks has been portrayed way more imposing and important than Mihawk as ever gotten in this series.

But sure, someone will quote me and say "WSS" as a counter argument to his clear portrayal differences so whatever.

I think that's his "excuse" for when we see stronger people than Kaido.

I think BB and Akainu have a strong case for that, but we'll see after Wano

The last few chapters where Kaido's been mainly 1v5'ing the top Supernova, barely thrown any attacks, is purposely letting them hit him (bar Zoro), and has been in his weakest forms....

But, if the mangaka's words aren't good enough for you then not to worry. Oda's gonna use actual feats for hybrid Kaido to silence the haters in the next few chapters

From Mihawk's Vivre card:

Key point: "in both name and reality".
Kaido's entire thing so far seems to be only the perception of him, hence why Oda keeps putting his "title" in question.

Ch. 795:

"People say, "in a one-on-one fight, always bet on Kaido."
"Land, sea, and air--out of every living thing in the world... This pirate is said to be the strongest creature alive!!!"
This is the perception of Kaido, we don't know if it's the reality.
It would be simple to just say "This pirate is the strongest creature alive" but it doesn't say so.

On one hand, BB has endgame villain buildup, but how does that work with WG falling after yonko? Seems like Akainu will be the last villain Luffy fights, so he must be the strongest, that's my reasoning anyways.
