Kidd hasn't been a total flop. The problem was some thought he would be the MVP alongside Luffy and outshine the 2nd main guy Zoro.

Their expectation was Kidd would somehow be to Luffy what WB was to Roger but at the very best it'll be what Shiki was to Roger.

Tanking lightning is what Others did too... they tanked named moves unlike zoro
They tanked fireballs unlike Zoro
Luffy tanked boro breath
They tanked wind scythes ... kidd tanked it twice.

Like I said, Zoro has landed 1 hit and tanked 1 attack

Replicating Kinnemon skills and feats aren't MVP caliber coz Oden didn't cut fire too, was tanking boro breaths

Yeah, let's compare a guy who is facing a Yonko and was said to be one of the frontrunners of the new pirate era only 3 chapters ago to Chinjao instead of comparing him to the frontrunners of the old era, even though he's currently fighting 2 of those guys. Makes sense.

And people really forced the comparison with Roger by claiming that Luffy would have his his own Whitebeard or his own Garp when there is no character who really fill the same position towards Luffy.
