Not really.

He most likely did because he doesn't want to underestimate Zoro anymore. He had no clear cut reason to switch from the weakest to the strongest form all of a sudden and after such small timeframe had he not been panicky which is crystal clear he is.

This reason basically ignore Kaido as a character .
He turn dragon form because he was having fun and want test them .
This is a character that loves to fight and test people from what we seen so far .
Him turning hybrid is the same thing him enjoying the fight which he even said and to test them even more .
A character is not panicky when they laughing and having fun and hold no damage so far .

Oda messed up Kaido vs Oden, as it doesn't make Oden look as strong as he apparently should be.

For someone who is put in the same group as Roger, WB, Xebec etc, Oden never fought Hybrid Kaido, fought a younger weaker Kaido and got one shotted by 1 Thunder Bagua once Kaido went into human form, not even hybrid.

Oden should have at least pushed Kaido as much as the 5 SN.

The fact that we never got a true Kaido vs Oden fight is one of the reasons why the second half of Oden's flashback was so disappointing. Because of this we'll never really know the result of a proper battle between the two 20 years ago.

How? He just figured out how Luffy's ability works

• His expressions of shock and surprise witnessing Luffy's attacks.
• His comment on Luffy's attacks actually being effective vs Kaido (as contrasted with his own ineffective attacks).

It's not the same. When Kaido mentions it about the scabbards he is talking about the type of Ryou that Oden uses. Luffy alluded to there being different types of CoA when he was training to unlock Barrier Haki, by stating the Haki Rayleigh, and the Boa Sisters use, is the same type he can use.

Nah, it's not about the type of haki being used. It was about Kaido seeing Oden in the Scabbards:

  • Mama also acknowledged it.
• Kidd, Killer and Law did nothing to him.

I changed my mind on Zoro pushing him to Hybrid because Kong Gatling was effective, not because Zoro's Tatsumaki didn't seem to be the catalyst. It's more like Zoro and Luffy together pushed him to hybrid.

P.S: Zoro save Luffy 4 times:

• Mama's Cognac
• Dragon!Kaido's Chomp
• Dragon!Kaido's Tornadoes
• Dragon!Kaido's Wind Scythes

P.S: I'm only more confident that Santoryu Zoro beats Dragon!Kaido. He can counter his entire offensive arsenal, and significantly hurt him with a mid tier attack like Kokujo Ou Tatsumaki.

Zoro also protected and saved Luffy several times. Zoro is facing 2 Yonko. Big Mom told Kaido to dodge Zoro's attack and too not underestimate him.

Kaido said the retainers were using Oden's ryuo guess they were all given Oden's haki.

Hating on a character for the sake of hating is not healthy bro. Kaido continued to cough blood multiple times, vomited Luffy and almost fell down from one low level attack. That's more than anything the scabbards or the SN bar Luffy has ever accomplished.
