I don't know if you have such a topic, the search bar is very bad for searching threads.

This topic you can use any way you want, it can be power level, appearance and development of character that you think are underestimated or overestimated

In terms of power level, my opinion is:

Underrated:
1 - Smoothie
2 - Jack
3 - Marco
4 - Ace
5 - Shanks

Overrated:
1- Pica
2- Katakuri
3- Garp
4- Zoro
5- Jinbe

Marco has some detractors power level wise but in every poll he is often only behind Beckmann. The ones who talk louder than the others don't represent the majority.
But beside his power Marco is an awesome character and it is often put aside. And he has an incredible design.

I agree for Smoothie.

Shanks I agree too for a part. But a good chunk of the fan base put him very high. (And stronger than Mihawk)

I like Ace too personality wise. Power level wise I don't think he is that much underestimated.

1 : But I think that extremely good characters are often put aside because they were on flashback : Noland, Fisher Tiger for exemple are insane characters.

2 : Kuma is also underrated as a character , power level wise, and character wise.

3 : Smoker too.

4 : I think the VA are also underestimated.

5 : But the most underestimate thing ever is the pre time skip : pre time skip feats portrayal and characters are underestimated heavily.

From what I've seen in forums and Youtube in general:

Overrated
1. Pica(commander level)
2. Zoro(stronger than Luffy)
3. Whitebeard(med diffs top tiers)
4. Sabo(top tier)
5. Doflamingo(equal to Katakuri)


Underrated
1. Admirals in general(takes 2 or 3 of them to beat an emperor)
2. Smoothie(weakest commander)
3. Smoker(gets med diffed by supernovas)
4. Ace(YC4 tops)
5. Mihawk(high tier)

Underrated :

Smoothie that she is weaker than Queen/Jack/Doffy
Big Mom that she is low top tier or below top 3
Ace that he is low high tier nonsense
Burgess that he is weak, while in fact he is YC 3.5
Crocodile that he is way below Doffy while he is near doffy or even above.

Overrated:

Zoro : that he is equal or near Luffy/kidd
Mihawk : any statement that places him above admirals/equal to Yonko. Or thay he can low diff high tiers.
Shanks : people still dream he is above kaido/BM
Doffy that he is above Cracker/Smoothie/Hancock
Marco : lol Low top tier nonsense

I believe based on manga doflamingo is a little overrated but his voice actor in anime is awesome which is why people love him(especially due to voice actor) . Remember his speech about throne wars to tsuru. He nailed it in that scene. Still gives me goosebumps.

Big mom I agree is highly underrated.

4: now it seems Oden (including me at beginning)
5: Admirals Level

Overrated:
1: Zoro
2: Sanji
3: Kid
4: Shanks (although getting lower eversince bounty reveal)
5: Mihawk

Nah Sanji good fam, but Zoro and Mihawk are overrated. Luffy also in good balance as well. That goes for Shanks and Sabo too.

Rayleigh maybe overrated on how strong he was at Prime though as many think he could beat WB or Yonkos easily especially at his old age. That's too much there.

Kinda is when 2 of WB's YC can stop Mihawk in his tracks and he need to ask permission to stop instead piercing through. Imagine Kaido or BM doing that? Would they ever ask permission to stop a fight or same with Admirals especially Akainu?

Sanji never overrated, he in balance state. Though Zoro as he'll is not underrated. His fanbase even thinks he beats Luffy and stronger overall. He is Overrated too much especially on this website here.
