The worlds "strongest" creature couldn't stop Vegapunk from experimenting on him? Surely this took a good amount of time. Marines clearly had him on lock

How come Kaido was in a WG base with Vegapunk of all people, and heavy marine security. Yet somehow escaped and survived.

Surely the ''World's Mightiest force'' in the Marines could've kept him there or killled him.

We saw how Roger would annihilate Oden, the same man who later on would shie the capability to annihilate Young Kaido. This is what feats showed at least. Not sure how much he might have grown in between.

Better question: how is it possible that despite he was captured by the navy nobody was able to kill him, so in other words no admiral since when you capture even a YC you don't send Maynard to take care of him, and on the top of that he also escaped without any iniury?
