LOL, I don't think it will happen too SIMPLY because Bau Huang was warning that someone was there... so if that was soul, and they are dead... she would not notice someone in the room healing them.... so the theory is ALREADY debunked... I'm just saying what would be really nice... but I really expect them healthy and alive hahaha, which leaves it to my obvious vote, it's real Oden/Toki with time travel after surviving execution as MUCH as people hate that scenario LOL

I don’t really agree about oden needing to be pivotal in the fight or the sn’s not having a chance to win. The very purpose of this arc is to establish Luffy as solidly yonko level.
Things are going to look dire, but eventually the alliance will win through their own efforts. If this is really oden, he’ll serve some important purpose, but adding combat power to the alliance doesn’t seem like the one to me.
Otherwise I agree that Oda hid the extent of the oden vs kaido fight, and Toki’s fruit definitely can do more than we’ve seen.

chapter 972 Toki says Oden that he's not going to die while smiling carefree. She also says Oden to look ahead 20 years.
chapter 984 Oda introduces the first fake Oden AKA Yamato.
chapter 993 Kaido says to the scabbards that he'd let them kill him but they're not Oden.
chapter 1003 Oda hints/foreshadows that another character is going to join the fight in rooftop and save the Supernovas.
Chapter 1004 we see a silhouette of a woman that resembles lady Toki in the same room as the scabbards themselves.
chapter 1006 Hoyagoro talks to Oden in his head wondering what would have happened if they joined forces against Kaido.
and finally in chapter 1007 Oden appears in front of the scabbards with new pair of blades.
As you can see, all this chapters are interconnected with the idea of a new character (whether Oden or not) appearing in Wano. Also, the only way Oden would have gotten those new blades would be from Hitetsu who happens to be a blacksmith, who was also waiting for someone. In 2017 year interview Oda said that he will introduce a lurking legend in Wano.

I don't see the problem if Oden survived the execution and got sent in the future because Kaido said that whatever the way his body is already dead. So in that case, he only have a handful of time remaining due to his will power. Anyway im going with this option too, but Oden's appearance must be temporary to be acceptable i think.

Toki's time power hasn't really been well expanded on apart from just time traveling, and so there could be more to her time ability than just time-traveling stuff. So let's assume Oden is real here, and looked as if he had never touched boiling oil in his entire life. So what could possibly have happened?
1) As Toki could only time travel to the future, she couldn't go to the past to try and reverse Oden's outcome... but what if her fruit's awakening could allow her to do that??... But even so, won't that just mean everyone just ended up forgetting Oden's sacrifice? So this one's definitely out.
2) Could it be possible that Toki could manipulate the effects of time on an individual? So let's say Oden got barbecued at 11:00 am... and Toki could reverse what happened to Oden's body, by reversing the body to what it was at say.. 10:00 am.. the time before Oden got boiled.
And then they together went through time 20 years into the future..
But this also opens a whole other set of questions: was Oden still alive when Toki found him, or was he dead? If he was dead, then Toki might end up ruining this arc as a whole, as everyone would just be revived in the end.. If he was alive, then that ruins Oden's sacrifice, but I guess it's already ruined now.

This would be amazing, but ironically dark for OP as beautiful as it is. If there was a level of consistency with death in the series (Pell, Pagaya, some Enies Lobby deaths, etc), it would be super believable.
Unfortunately, the fact that Jack is aiming to kill them after finding they are alive and the fact that Bao Huang knows they were, plus seeing a 10th person there supports that the are alive
