Also, it's kinda sad to see Denjiro didn't even realize Oden's next move. Looks like Izo has more admiration to Oden.
I hope Im-sama relate to the Monkey D. family (perhaps Luffy's mother/aunt). I can imagine how the world will react to that family, especially Buggy (considering he thought Reyleigh is Luffy's uncle). XD

I'm interested in how things develop with him and WB more so than Oden(whose story feels to big for WB atm, I know that's crazy). Also, early WB is a lot different than his old self, almost too passive and forgettable dare I say? I guess ego and fame really do build the presence for this sorta character but it's interesting to see. I imagined his rivalry with Roger to have been more foul and brutal but we should be seeing their interactions next chapter.
Quick thought but Marco is focused on way to much for someone who is just an apprentice imo, maybe he was still very strong even when he was a new recruit?

Oden is starting to grow on me. The pacing is good, and oda is handling his character very well.
I like his adventures.
It's going to be epic when they meet with the Roger pirates. I hope to see some fighting panels, I know not to expect much since it's a flashback but I would be satisfied with just a few pages.

Really good follow up to the last chapter. Whitebeard was great, as was Oden. Oden is absolutely another Luffy from a different age and place, as was Roger. They're all nuts for the sake of being nuts. And Whitebeard has a soft spot for people that are insane, for whatever reason. I'm interested in the reaction Whitebeard is going to have when Roger shows up. Are they already friends, or do they come to be friends after this? Also, Buggy and Shanks' annoyance with Whitebeard and his crew in this chapter was pretty funny as well. Solid, all in all.

It came up twice now, so it is not just for a joke. Plus, Zou is not an island and the Minks have a good idea about that. So, the locations where RPs are present is not counted, only the locations RPs point to.
I don't know, how Oden let go of the chain to save a woman in distress is such a Sanji thing to do.

This was a wholesome chapter overall.
Oden is an amalgamation of traits from Luffy, Zoro, a bit of Sanji and even Franky. In other words, characters that Oda seems to love. All in one package.
The Wano flashbacks have also helped to fix what was always a bit of an oversight or error on Oda's part: not seeing the Whitebeard Pirates and Whitebeard himself before Marineford. Unlike the BMP, the WBP never got a full arc and had to share the spotlight with others ( and it was a short arc too). I love that Oda is rectifying this somewhat and we get to see a glimpse of the crew and the captain that Ace pledged himself to.
Whitebeard's reasons not to take him do make sense. Oden is too much alpha. On a ship there can only be one captain. But also taking into account he's the heir to a kingdom. But, the way he tests the man's discipline, will and focus was boss. Also, the way he accepted him despite apparently failing. All Whitebeard wanted was to see the true character of Oden and he passed with flying colours.
Also when Oden refers to "The Power..." and the panel shows WB. Nicely done.
The little Izo and Whitbeard side story there...genius writing. You can tell Oda is building up to him eventually preferring to remain with Whitebeard - deep down I bet he's always been looking for a father-figure. Oden is not it. It's like babysitting Luffy.
Toki didn't really move me one way or the other. It's clear that the revelations and hype concerning her will come later, so as not to overshadow Oden's adventure with the WBP.
So chapter ends on Roger. Great. Love seeing the Ace resemblance. Looks like the holiday breaks will coincide with some pretty dope chapters inbetween. People won't be too annoyed taking a week or two off if each chapter was graded 8-10. Clever scheduling.

Another dope chapter. Oden is now officially in my top 5 fav characters, lol how can you not like the guy? WB considered him an equal and called him brother Brother, that's the first time we've seen him call anyone that.
