Questions & Mysteries Correct translation of the databook about Vista vs Mihawk.

#1
I have seen multiple people discussing about the right translation of the databook who talks about Vista and Mihawk.
I'm referring to this:

I'll send the right translation alongside an explation of stuff.

Vista
※Chapter 552 ※Whitebeard Pirates/5th Division Captain ※February 5th

He's one of the best swordsmen in the world, and someone that garners respect from even the World's Strongest Swordsman (i.e. Hawk Eye Mihawk)!!

As the Raid Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, he's cut his way through many a battlefield as the advance guard. Regardless of who is opponent his, he engages them with a casual smile that exudes confidence and cuts them down with his outstanding two sword style sword arts.

Vista: Pleased to meet your acquaintance, "Hawkeye Mihawk"

Vista seems to be able fight on par with Mihawk in a duel and might even be capable of a display exceeding even that.
(Puck Note - This bit is a bit hard to translate to English but the gist of it is that either could potentially win in a fight. It isn't a fact but rather an inference btw. An example of similar scenario would be trying to determine who wins a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao before they actually fought. You couldn't say for certain who'd win)

In this fight, either was unable to land a successful hit on the other.

Dude, saying Strongest Swordsman can One-Shot any Swordsman is like saying Strongest DF User can One-Shot any DF User.
Vista is a High Tier Swordsman, he is among Best in the World, so ofc he can spare with Mihawk & challenge him, but in a long fight, Mihawk would wreck him eventually

For example, put Yami Teach instead of Vista, Mihawk would literally One-Shot him & he can't do anything about it
Does that mean Vista >>>>> Yami Teach? Please stop this joke, it's pathetic

And this is further proven when Zoro fought T-Bone. He One-Shot the guy & yet called him "Very Strong" & wasn't sure if he can Win!
Can you imagine that? Zoro doubting if he can Win against an Opponent he can One-Shot?
It's not a Contradiction, it's just that Swordsmen are built different, it's all about landing that Attack

T-Bone could have spared with Zoro for long it they didn't use their Techniques, just like Vista can spare with Mihawk
But when it comes to using their Techniques & Testing their True Power, the Superior Swordsman will Win

However when we Judge Them outside Match-Up, Mihawk is way Superior than Vista, he is compared to likes of Shanks, Rayleigh, Yonko
While Vista is compared to likes of Jozu, Calamities, Commanders ... etc

Mihawk wasn't even Excited for fighting Vista & he was thinking about Luffy while Sparing, showing that he doesn't see Vista as someone who can Take his Title at all, but simply someone who can give him a good fight & deserves Respect

words in Databook have no value honestly

It's the same databook that stated:

- Shanks is equal to an admiral

To then say

- Mihawk looks for someone who would surpass Shanks to face him
Which results in freaking Vista > Mihawk > Shanks = Admirals

According to Databooks lol

Again, you guys gotta stop this Databook as an evidence

Databook should be only used for entertainment to know a bit more about the character like "Their heights, favorite food, which blue sea he was born on, maybe some past history info" and small details we wouldn't remember on casual days

But using it for powerscaling or to determine if someone is dead or alive like "Sabo" is bad move

Once again headcannon, mihawk can wreck the okama fodders but not vista, vista can push him past high-diff as the DB said

:josad:When has mihawk ever been compared to rayleigh, the last time I check he admit distance between a sickbeard whos inferior to the likes of the yonkos according to you.
Mihawk wasn't even Excited for fighting Vista & he was thinking about Luffy while Sparing, showing that he doesn't see Vista as someone who can Take his Title at all, but simply someone who can give him a good fight & deserves Respect
And luffy was thinking about Kinemon and the scabbars when fighting kaido in 1000, Luffy>Kaido

The issue here is not the data books but rather people who spread false informations.

1- No data book ever said that Shanks = Admiral

2- The information about Vista being able to fight with Mihawk does not come from the same data book as the one saying that Mihawk is waiting for a swordsman stronger than Shanks (and the two informations are not contradictory anyway)

The databooks are recap of what happens in the manga that some people in the community refuse to consider because the informations their contains go against their agendas.

databook isnt wrong
in the clash
vista did clash with mihawk evenly
its rehashing what happened

if you go further down
there is another one that insist he is the strongest above the others
that shanks swordsmanship is top level and mihawk is the world strongest .

apoo could clash with zoro and drake for a good amount of time as well and apoo could prob do more however a logical person would argue in a serious fight zoro is beating apoo handily.

these statements can be true without being mutually exclusive or a contradiction.

This is why Vivre cards are false, do you actually believe akainu can melt yoru the hardest blade
It is not a matter of believe. It is a matter of fact. If the data book says that Akainu can melt everything why I should disregard it. Because I can’t « believe » it? One does believe in fact, he acknowledges them.

But thanks for proving my point. The issue with the databooks are the people who thinks that their beliefs are more important than facts.
