If Usopp can be the lookout instead of Carrot. Robin could be the scrivener at Yamato's place.
Scrivener and a archaeologist are two different roles, but a Sniper and a Loockout are very similar look Van Auguer from BB crew, he was loockout too when he see's Akainu and Jaya Town.

What opponent Carrot will be from BB pirates?

Yamato potentially has Avalo Pizarro a oponent Corrupted King with Horns vs Yamato was about to be Shogun has a Horn.

Maybe I was late, but how is Luffy going to deal with the fact that Yamato read Oden's diary and everything that was written about the secret of the one piece, the secret of the D's and lost century?

Yamato even knows that Luffy is the man who would arrive 20 years later to take down Kaido. Yamato in the crew is like a dull shortcut, in which Luffy has already shown immense disinterest, to the point of saying that he would give up being a pirate if anyone in the crew knew anything

As long as Yamato doesn’t know what or where the One Piece is, then everything else is fine. Luffy doesn’t care about the Will of D and Joyboy stuff. If he did he wouldn’t want Robin reading Ponyglyphs. Since Roger got pissed at the guy in his crew for making an eternal log pose and sent it into the ocean, I doubt he would have been okay with Oden detailing specific “One Piece” related info in his Journal. If so Oden would have been going directly against Roger’s wishes.

I expect Oden’s journal to contain useful exposition that doesn’t damage the mystery of the One Piece.

This is impossible. Oden documented the entire journey to laugh tale. Perhaps, the only coherent answer you can have, is the coincidence that Yamato has read only part of the book about wano.
We’ll see if it’s impossible. It makes sense to me he’d leave the mystery of the One Piece out and the exact method of getting to Laugh Tale out of respect to Roger. Unless he has far less admiration for Roger than it appears.

He could include everything about the trip without the exact route to Laugh Tale and without mentioning the One Piece directly.

Regardless of Yamato and her joining, I can’t imagine Oden shitting on Roger’s will and explicit wishes.

Oden’s journal feels more like a plot device than anything else. Why introduce it if it’s too tainted with spoilers to be used?

How do we know Yamato knows every secret in Laugh Tale? We don’t know shit about the journal

We see Oden write the journal as he narrating. For all we know that was all he wrote

This is what I think too, however, I started wondering if there’s more when Momo read it and said “I can’t die.”

That could’ve been written after the journey, something more personal to him and Momo. If Momo is important, and he was planning to pass on his journal to him at some point (considering he was expecting Joy Boy to appear, probably to tell him to help him) it makes 0 sense Oden would write all the secrets of the world in the journal. It would defeat the purpose of the One Piece

I agree. I don’t think all the secrets are there.

But I believe there’s a chance that like with Whitebeard saying “The One Piece exists” when Luffy is incapable of hearing him, well get a scene like that about the Will of D or Joyboy from Momo or Yamato.

At best we will get a hint. The will of d seems to be highly intertwined with the void century. I doubt Oda would spoil it now, specially since he basically just told us that is found in laugh tale

And why not?

1. In literature and film you don’t give out the biggest secret before the climax of the story. Those things are revealed in the climax

2. It’s not logical to write the world secrets in a flimsy piece of paper. If the journal was supposed to be passed down to Momo or kept by Oden while he waits for Joy Boy, it will probably contain information pertaining to Wano and Momo’s power considering Joy Boy will still need to go to Laugh Tale

Knowing Luffy he would probably just tell her to shut up if necessary. After all let's not forget he kinda lived with Rayleigh for 2 years.

There’s no way the journal has everything about Laugh Tale in it, because there’s absolutely no reason for something like that to be introduced to the series. No out-of-series reason for Oda to introduce something like that, no in-series reason for Oden to write it.

It’ll just be a hint about these truths, same as we’ve had plenty of times before, with maybe more info than before now that the journey is nearly over. But just a bit, specifically about Wano and the Kozuki, not “this is what the will of D is, this is what Imu is, this is what happened in the Void Century, this is what One Piece is.”

Robin hasn’t been punted out of the crew for knowing what Shirahoshi is, Franky isn’t gone for knowing how to build Pluton, Yamato’s not getting ruled out for having some Wano knowledge.

Like I think the journal will have one big whopper reveal in it, at least on par with reveals like Roger knowing the Ancient Language/Shirahoshi is an Ancient Weapon/the World Government is ruled by Im.

And that’ll be Joy Boy, Kozuki, Wano related, since all these things have been brought up in Wano.

And since this arc is so important, and Laugh Tale is so close, this could be the biggest info drop we’ve had so far, as a push into the final stage of the story

But as a spoiler to everything? Nah, not happening.

Roger didn’t know the ancient language though. But I do agree we’ll probably get a big hint in a form of a revelation. A lot of people seem to think Wano could be the true ancient kingdom

We know that now, but for a good few years it was a big mystery of how he did that on Skypiea.

I think Elbaf or God’s Valley would be more likely to be the name of the Ancient Kingdom myself, but Wano is a good shout.
