Tbh after post timeskip that doesnt happen anymore. Usually its Luffy and Zoro
Nah.
First taking down a Pacifista together.
The whole bounty thing.
Queen analyzing them as second and third and apart from the rest, with other Beast Pirates treating them as top dogs.
Both protecting his captain in Fishman Island, and grouped as members of the monster trio by Caribou.
Zoro jealous when Sanji's strength is praised.
And so on. Zoor isn't more grouped with Luffy than he was before timeskip.
What I'm saying is Zoro's scar has more parallelism with Rayleigh's.
Sure, could be, but nothing really denies that it may also be related to Sanji and they both ended up hiding one of their eyes while keeping the one matching their sides as Luffy's wings. It would be a common and organic creative process.
By the way, I'm going to assume that Oda did draw Rayleigh with a scar the first time he was shown, because it isn't completely clear.
