You can go after kaido and not straight up fight him by taking down his crew. This a fact for you. Taking down king will help take down kaido. This also a fact.

Luffy fought Kaido for 30 minutes immediately after being smashed and while learning how to use adv CoC, now he will have more control and be less sloppy from the start.

There was forshadowing from Whos who that the Gomu gomu no mi is actually incredibly broken, this may or may not tie in with the finisher that Kaido alluded failed mysteriously off screen.

Now he has eaten meat, which canonically performs minor regen and massive stamina boosting effects to Luffy.

Marco literally said he wouldn't go to Kaido right away in chapter 999, implying he intends to go sometime.

Kaido will fall by the hands of Luffy as he promised.
