You aren't lecturing me on this. The fact that you went straight for the Western phoenix when Marco is clearly more of a modern Fenghuang tells a lot about our positions. Check his design, his techniques, his fellow phoenixes in Japanese pop culture and even his color spread appearances; then you may understand why he's connected to the pheasant.

TBH this Shinobu's power, aside from the plot convenience, will solve 2 big questions for Momo
- How could a little kid with little DF mastery be able to counter Kaidou's flame
- How could he rule Wano as a literal child

If Momo joins the crew and can be a giant Dragon we might have a short second impel down arc. if Sabo and Hancock are there. the strawhats can fly to there and rescue them very fast. and destroy impel down.

What is misleading here? Even if you ignore the way Japanese pop authors interpret the phoenix in relation to Fenghuang/Houou (which has been reduced to "Eastern phoenix" by globalized syncretism), it's as easy as checking Marco's design to notice he isn't meant to represent an eagle at all.

Or just his shoes wich is literally the only black part, the exact same thing happened when he clashed with Drake where only the microscopic part that was his feet was seemingly blackened though it could just be the lines being so close to each other. Meanwhile every other user of hardening gets an actual good view of the body part or at least get the black lightining effect

One thing I've been thinking is Oda may be doing a weird order and then shifting in reverse.

Basically:

- 1017: Jinbe for a few pages (but let's count it)
- 1018: Jinbe
- 1019: Franky
- 1020: Robin
- 1021: Robin
- 1022: Robin/Brook (he defeats the fodder in a few attacks...)
- 1023: Franky
- 1024: Franky/Jinbe
- 1025: Jinbe/Something else

In that time we'd see Zoro/Sanji skirmishes for sure, someone Rooftop stuff and Luffy getting there, but also maybe better matches eventually for Brook, Chopper and Usopp.

Idk, it's a bit worrying but we'll see how this goes.

And yet you are trying to argue how Zoro is now representative of a pheasant due to the Kozuki symbol, yet that is very clearly a crane lol. Look up artistic depictions of a Crane. Look at the cultural impact of Cranes in Japan. It's not a pheasant at all. Let alone the fact that Enma is a Shimotsuki forged blade. You are forcing a symbolism to the Kozuki for some reason. You are forcing Zoro's hair color to match some depictions of the Momotaro's Phoenix color, yet that shouldn't matter. Yamato is a deity wolf, not even a dog. Luffy is a human, not a monkey. Momo had a dragon power, something not in Momotaro.


The Phoenix is primarily based on the design of a pheasant in Eastern cultures, NOT an eagle. It's not a real animal, it's based on the design of a real animal, which is very clearly a pheasant when you look at Marco's full zoan.
