The only time that I was ever annoyed with Sanji was during Fishmen Island
Yeah, i mean, the gag was too over the top, didn't even felt like the One Piece standards, in the anime is worse. The best excuse was basicly "Sanji passed 2 years without having contact with girls", still exagerated.
About Sanji and Jinbei, Sanji acted the way he would act in any situation, and i expected that, despite that Sanji was pissed it kinda had a gag feeling to it at some moments, especially when he said to Jinbei comit seppuku, basicly the point of the scene was to showcase Nami forgiving Jinbei and letting the past in the past. Although i don't think Sanji was going to do anything, thats why he flows between a serious Sanji saying "just take care with your words" and a pissed off Sanji with a gag face
People who bring this up to bash Sanji usually take away all of Jinbei's fault for some reason, but he actually messed up a lot and he knew what he was doing back then, Sanji was pissed for a good reason, he didn't knew Jinbei, much less needed to show sympathy towards him, he was there with Nami during Arlong Park and he knew what she passed, i usually relate that to Sanji's backstory and how much his mom was important to him, he felt the same about Nami cuz she also lost her mom to protect Nami, as Sora tried to do by avoiding her sons to become mindless soldiers.
Try to put yourself on that Sanji's situation towards a friend of yours who lived something similar, or even towards yourself.
Sanji was always super protective towards his crewmates, he respects them no matter who they are and what their role is, he praises their efforts and boosts their confidence, and he absolute despises who does the opposite. Thats actually one of the long running themes for Sanji, from Usopp in Water 7 to Chooper recently for example. (you may bring Zoro but their bickering doesn't change the fact that they acknowledge each others capabilities).
In this case i relate this trait of Sanji to his backstory, the way he felt useless by having to accomplish things he simply couldn't because he wasn't supposed to work like his siblings, and consequently he got punished be being the "failure", he didn't get any help, he just couldn't, until he met Zeff and learn to fight, cook and even surpass Zeff, and this was possible due to having someone to teach you, not to bash your head and say you're useless.
That could be the same way he saw Usopp back then, even him accomplishing little things in fights, Sanji felt like he could still be useful in another way cuz there are things some people can't do, and Sanji literally couldn't by any means have the life Judge expected him to.
