He really didn’t.

Zoro landed one hit with his strongest attack on Kaido that Kaido then shrugged off before he turned to an enemy he felt was worth his time, who then proceeded to fight hybrid Kaido in base form and actually pushed Kaido. He is way below Luffy. Stop with this. The entire story has shaped that narrative, with each progressive arc. Simply fighting together does not mean they’re the same level, in the same (albeit exaggerated) way that Nami was not on Luffy’s level despite fighting with Luffy against Cracker.
Why are people so obsessed with Luffy knocking Kaido down. It has amounted to nothing. Luffy can knock him down 100 more times it won't let him win if he can't cause significant damage.

Zoro bested Kaido and scarred him while injured and in poor condition which caused Kaido to start breathing heavy. If he would have been in better condition he would have fought Kaido longer and scarred him more.

Oda introduced actual power levels to the story, yet you choose to ignore them entirely - truly, zoro gang is willing to go to any lengths to rationalize their headcanon.
keep calling this headcanon when all it meant was (no sword no df kaku) is slightly stronger than (no df jyabura).

theres a reason why jyabura is irrelevant now while kaku is in cp0

It was to indicate their physical strength. As stated. Not use of haki or speed or devil fruit ability etc etc
If you really want to get into it, Chopper pointed out, in the same arc, that carnivorous Zoans were more ferocious and had attributes better suited for combat. Jyabura also had the greatest mastery of tekkai in CP9.

But I guess something something sword good, right?

If the author introducing actual power levels to the story won't convince you, then clearly nothing will.

Ask yourself why Oda chose to introduce Doriki, and why he chose to have Jyabura and Kaku off by such a tiny margin.
My statement was facts regardless if you want to accept it or not. Why did Oda give Kaku a DF right before fighting the straw hats and have him grow stronger during battle? Why not earlier like Jabura?
