Many points raised from this chapter.

1. The idea that Carrot might join the straw hats in a potential Oars style battle on Kaido gained another point. It seems Neko is about to trounce Pero. He'd win ordinarily, but using Sulong is just overkill. It was even mentioned in this chapter by Hyogoro that when someone gets that serious, you have no right interfering with their fight. And if Carrot truly doesn't have her moment to shine vs Pero then that leaves the door open for huge possibilities for the future.

2. At this point, the straw hats are definitely going to go to the moon. King's ancient moon race that were formerly known as Gods only cements the necessity to visit. When doing so, it would be useful to have a straw hat with a personal connection to the place.

3. Momo's transformation looks incredible. You can tell Oda put real effort into it and gave it the appropriate double spread to display it in full glory. Compare this to the forgettable crap Yamao got for her df transformation and it should be very clear which one Oda is way more invested in

4. Shinobu claims that Momo looks exactly like (what's most likely to be) Oden. The same Oden that Yamao's been jerking off to for the last 20 years. They're also now the same age yet again. 28-year-old son of Oden with a dragon df and a 28-year-old daughter of Kaido who roleplays as Oden. If Momo asked Yamao for help in doing something (such as leaving Wano to go and open the borders), Yamao will likely say yes, especially considering Oda went through the time of building up a close relationship between the two throughout almost the entire time Yamao's existed. It could also slap the stupidity out of her. If she sees Momo looking identical to his father then she might finally realise that she can't be Oden, and might then decide to support the actual person who's following Oden's footsteps. Either way, with them now sharing the same age and the Oden visual similarities, the connection between the two just strengthened even more. The two are a pair. Where one goes, the other will follow.

5. A while back, people made the argument that we needed someone who represents Wano to join the crew. The idea being that Yamao would be the Wano and "Oden" representative of the crew. Now not only does Zoro wield Oden's sword (which is said to contain his will), but he also has direct blood connections to Wano itself and is a descendant of a lord and also the nation's hero. That's enough Wano representation for those who desired it.

The whole point of Yamato wanting to be Oden is that they believe someone must be Oden to fulfill the prophecy. Now that Momonosuke likely looks like Oden, I'm willing to bet that the moment Momonosuke arrives, Yamato will just say "I see, so he is Oden!" and that will be the end of it.

Agreed. I was wondering at what point Oda would finally make her realise. This is a solid justification for her to drop the delusion. The kid she's been protecting throughout the whole arc has now (from a visual perspective at least) quite literally become Oden. It allows her to drop the act, and would likely make her want to help Momo even more to see what he will accomplish and aid him through that.

Momo can join the strawhats and being a Shogun in the same time. his Dragon form will enable him to go back to Wano any time he is needed.

1.Why everybody thinks momo gonna join, he has no reason to join now. The whole he has join the crew because he has to become a men/he is too young to be shogun is done. To be honest i never understood why he has to be a pirate to become shogun. Anyway now he can be the shogun.

2. So yeah i saw the spoil that why my last reply about carrot was salty. I was dissapointed about her not being the one to deafeat Perospero. Thought i still think she has some chances to join the crew now i do not know how oda gonna make her interesting. Thought i do find kinda sketchy that she is right now witnessing nekomamushi fight against perospero. Who know oda could go for a tragedy but yeah i do not know

I've been thinking about this, especially since I hate the whole revenge-against-Perospero thing. If Big Mom becomes an ally (as Olin?) or if she falls and Katakuri takes over the BM pirates, then it could be interesting if resolution to Carrot's desire for revenge is having to drop the grudge against Perospero. She's been out of the limelight because that's not something that can happen until the BM pirates become allies, but it could happen in raid aftermath.

It's a set up chapter for pedro. It's still far but it's getting closer

Paste Pedro over Pell... "Why is there a grave for me...?"

The thing is i hate the whole revenge thing. I never felt like carrot character was about revenge well not since she has been introduce. And right now how is Neko not fighting for revenge.

Oh, they're certainly fighting for revenge, but they're also fighting Perospero because he's allied with Kaido. If Perospero is around after Kaido falls, then there could be a plot point about dropping the grudge... #PerosperoDidNothingWrong

How does she have huge possibilities. She not gonna defeat kaido anyway so it will be underwhelming.

Yeah, Yamao4NN is officially finished now.

The next nakama is sealed, it's Momo. The boy was already accompanying the group since Punk Hazard arc, more or less accompanying the readers for 8 years already. He has been far more relevant than Yamao the cosplayer ever be.

Luffy even immediately recognizes his mature dragon form. The two has bonded together. Now compare that to Yamao, Luffy can't even pronounce her name right.

"But but Momo is too weak / too young" that excuse is finished now.

"But but Carrot is background character compared to Yamao" yeah and Yamao is just a bonus, added at last minute character compared to Momo who has been built up slowly since Punk Hazard arc.
Then what about the fact that Momo has always wanted to be the Shogun of Wano and never a pirate? :kaidowhat:

Carrot's going to have her moment to shine. That's regardless of whether we think she'll be a straw hat or just a fun side character. But the fact that she will have her spotlight at some point, in some way is undeniable.
1. "Just turn yourself into a mighty warrior"
2. "Everyone has their moment"
3. "One day you will understand the importance of the straw hat crew"
4. "Keep moving forward"

These are all loose threads regarding Carrot's character which need to be resolved. Her story is not going to end with her losing off-screen hung up on getting revenge. That's the opposite of what she was set up to become.

These points will get addressed at some point, the debate is about how and when it's done.

Those against Carrot4nakama believe that Carrot will fight Perospero and that's her character wrapped up right there and then. She'll then leave the story afterwards. That fight will be her moment to shine and everything regarding her arc will be resolved in that moment.

But now...it seems Carrot might not even be involved in beating Perospero. A Sulong Neko should absolutely destroy candy man and in this very chapter it was brought up again the need to not interfere with other people's fights. Oda even commented in an old interview:
"Two fighting against one isn't fair." Interview between Usuta and Oda (2008)
It would be strange to say the least for the main moment that Carrot achieves Pedro's vision of her as a "mighty warrior" to simply be a gangbang on poor Perospero.

So the question is, If Carrot's moment to shine isn't in the Perospero fight, then when will it be?
Morj sums up the reasoning well in this video. I think Carrot's role could be in fighting alongside them. It simultaneously addresses each and every one of her loose ends.

Shows her off as a mighty warrior. Shows that she's moved on from Perospero and "kept moving forward". It shows that she recognises the importance of the straw hats and it's simply her moment to shine.

I could of course be wrong, but what I'm almost certainly not wrong about is that Carrot will have a moment to shine. Be it simply beating Perospero, vs Kaido, or whatever else. That on its own doesn't mean she'll be a straw hat, but it does mean that there's more to come. Don't forget she is the 8th most popular character in the entire series. More loved than half the straw hats. Oda's gonna give her a decent send off at least if she truly is leaving.

I agree that Carrot will have a moment to shine, and I think that it will be defeating Perospero.

It's very interesting that both Inu and Neko are now fighting where one of their friends/companions are there. Inu with Ashura and Neko with Carrot/Wanda. Maybe Ashura and Carrot will be the ones with the finishing blow in these two fights?
