How are Johnny and Yosaku better characters than Carrot?
Introduction & relevancy
Carrot
- She shows up for the first time on chapter 804 attacking Zoro to demonstrate the Mink powers such as Electro, Floating
- Her design is a basic humanoid rabbit with short blond hair and paw like gauntlet claw for weapons not unique to her alone
- Carrot has the Ruler Aide title with Wanda which is pretty useless overall considering there should be one king but it is a unique status that she received partly due to Wanda being her caretaker
- She's part of the musketeer squad
- She garchuu people sometimes
Johnny and Yosaku
- The introduction chapter is named after them, chapter 42
- Johnny is shown attacking Luffy and destroying the Merry for the first time
- As for their design, they both are humans with odd fishermen style outfits, Johnny has a big tattoo of the sea on his face and Yosaku is wearing the same type of helmet that Usopp is in Wano for the Onigashima raid, his clothing resemble of someone in boxers and bathrobe
- Their weapon are some unique type of cleaver swords, probaby related to the fisherman theme
- They are Bounty hunters as well as Zoro past friends, they call him brother Zoro
- Yosaku was stricken with curvy for bad alimentation, a key moment for the Strawhats to realise that they needed a Cook for keeping the crew healthy
- Johnny was vital in recruiting Sanji, as he suggested upon his knowledge that he knew of the sea restaurant Baratie and would lead them there
- Their gimmick is to state each time they '' lost by a hair ''

- Took on the Lookout spot for WCI and nothing in Wano, even got outshined by Usopp Haki to detect enemies ahead
- Was Chopper sidekick in Mirror world following his lead and plan
- Drew faces of Pedro and the Strawhats as a gag for the Mirrors to find them
- Witnessed Pedro dying( for whatever that's worth)
- Carrot presented the Minks secret Power Sulong
- She paralysed Daifuku's fleet but needed the help of Daifuku himself or would have failed at it, also wasn't essential to the narrative as Jinbei would have done a better job while Nami steered the ship
- She has a moment with Sanji at the end of WCI about Pedro, even though they never shared words together
- In Wano she's been barely a character, however in act 1 she get to hear Oden's backstory(for whatever that's worth)
- Onigashima she's Nami's sidekick now, but even less relevant than with Chopper
- She has her first sideplot, going on an unwarranted revenge for Pedro against Perospero
- Perospero vs Carrot & Wanda is offscreened and they are defeated

- They attack Fullbody and are instantly defeated, they heal their injuries on the merry while guarding it
- Johnny and Yosaku save Zoro from drowning after his defeat versus Mihawk, they also witnessed the full fight
- Johnny and Yosaku call Nami sister(for whatever that's worth)
- Luffy called Yosaku's name 4 times(for whatever that's worth)
- They are tricked by Nami and pushed into the sea, then report the news that she fled with the Merry
- Yosaku comes back at the end of Baratie with his lower half inside a PandaShark

It should be pretty evident that Johnny and Yosaku are by far more important, distinct and better written characters than Carrot..

The next nakama is sealed, it's Momo. The boy was already accompanying the group since Punk Hazard arc, more or less accompanying the readers for 8 years already. He has been far more relevant than Yamao the cosplayer ever be.
Luffy even immediately recognizes his mature dragon form. The two has bonded together. Now compare that to Yamao, Luffy can't even pronounce her name right.

"But but Carrot is background character compared to Yamao" yeah and Yamao is just a bonus, added at last minute character compared to Momo who has been built up slowly since Punk Hazard arc.

Momo is very, very interesting to watch right now. If Oden’s journal has given him some sort of reason to go to Laugh Tale, then he should be a Strawhat and Yamato will only go with the crew to the next island.
But it’s also still pretty possible that what Momo reads in the journal makes him want to stay on Wano, as Shogun.
It’s an actual good argument to have now, that’s for sure, as opposed to Carrot giving nothing of worth for years now.
