Current Events A Decade of Zoro Propaganda Down the Toilet-How Zoro Himself Destroyed the Swordsmen Narrative

World's Strongest Swordsman
The funny part is, is that it was clear to the masses ever since Zoro and Mihawks first encounter where Mihawk explicitly talked about Zoro's "Skills with a Sword." in reference to Zoro challenging him. It's mind boggling to see people still trying to argue against it, after Oda gave us a definitive answer this chapter. Just because you carry a Sword, it doesn't make you a Swordsman. What makes you a Swordsman is your stance on sticking to your skill with a blade in combat. It was King's stance on not caring about traditional Skills and technique, that made Zoro surmise that he is not a Swordsman.
Why did he just train zoro coating his sword in haki.
When he specifically said he was teaching zoro the WAY OF THE SWORD. .
Where was all the Skills then ?
Zoros swordsmanship Skills and techniques are the same
The change was he got stronger and used haki

Coating your sword in haki is following the way of the sword from the horses mouth.

Kaku, Cabji did the same shit King does, but they call themselves swordsmen

So it’s not really a surprise to anybody outside of sword swallowers, but King just proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Oda does not view the term “swordsman” as being as simplistic as “anybody who uses a Sword in combat:

I suppose the beautiful irony in this is that King actually didn’t say anything about not being a Swordsman, Zoro himself did as Zoro clearly states that wielding a sword does not make one a swordsman.

All these years of “Fujitora is a Swordsman because he carried a sword”…debunked by Zoro himself.

All these years of “Whitebeard himself is beneath Mihawk because Oda considers his Bisento a Sword”…debunked by Zoro himself.

All these years of “Ryuma over Roger because Roger has a Sword”…debunked by Zoro himself.

You see, even Zoro fans themselves knew that Oda never viewed a Swordsman as just any person to carry a Sword, but for years they have tried to argue that there is no canonical basis for characters who wield swords not being Swordsman. No longer, as Zoro acknowledges that King himself is not a Swordsman despite wielding a sword as his primary weapon lol.

You can wield a sword and not be a swordsman. You can wield a sword and still be stronger than Mihawk. You can wield a Sword and that doesn’t mean you’ll be weaker than EOS Zoro.

Mihawk’s Title of “World’s Strongest Swordsman”, LITERALLY means that he has the strongest Swordsmanship in the world, not that he is stronger than every character who carries a Sword.

We have all known this for years, Zoro fans themselves have known this for years, but now they no longer have any canonical basis for the spreading of their propaganda.

The war is over. But Mihawk is still stronger than Shanks.

Agreed Kaido is top 1, Mihawk top 3. Lmao why did you try to sneak CoC in their. Thats not a fighting style or anything. Shanks does not have a DF he not in the category you talking about. Just like CoA, CoC can just go on your sword.
As long as we agree that KAIDO is number 1, no problem.
Kaido > Mihawk > IM-sama

I don't know what is so surprising about this, it's not a big deal.

The true question is: "is swordsmanship inferior to other fighting styles?"

That question was first triggered all the way back at whisky peak, during the fight between zoro and luffy, what's stronger zoro's swordsmanship or luffy's unarmed combat, and the challenge ended in a draw, zoro and luffy fought so equally that the question was left unanswered.

So we can apply the same case to this case, zoro has won against tricksters, DF users, undead zombies and more, by relying on nothing but his swordsmanship.

Having more freedom and accessibility in a fighting style does not make it superior to a more specialized one like swordsmanship.

But damn, i never knew swordsmans were nerfing themself to this extent and yet they still come on top everytime, even if swordsmanship wasn't effective they have tottal freedom to fight in a different style.

Shanks is someone who dabbled in swordsmanship and did formal duels with Mihawk, but being a swordsman was never the core of his character. You know, like when Usain Bolt decided to play football for a while.

Dude is one armed pirate who has used sword since he was a kid until currently. Used a sword in every single fight he has ever been in and has never used anything else. Had duels with Mihawk, the WSS. He has no DF, no additional hax, and all his fighting prowess come from his Haki alongside his weapon Gryphon- which is a regular saber in terms of usage and looks.

That is, like, literally the most "swordsman" you can get. Hell, it's even more swordsman than Mihawk himself- at least that dude has a peculiar blade and uses a kitchen knife sometimes. Even Zoro has used techniques with 0 swords and stuff. Shanks is literally embodiment of being a swordsman.

Why would Mihawk teach Zoro "The way of the Sword" when that's just a formula that actual Swordsman follow, and Zoro has been doing that his whole life? :choppawhat:

Zoro doesn't consider King a Swordsman. It has nothing to do with whether or not King uses a sword either, and stems from the fact that King disregards skill and technique when it comes to wielding his sword.

Does Cabaji and Kaku disregard skill and technique within their Swordsmanship? Not that we are aware of.

King doesn't take pride in skill and technique when it comes to him using a Sword. As far as we know, Cabaji and Kaku do. That's what it boils down to. Ones sense of pride in their skill when wielding a Sword. If a person using a Sword doesn't care about how good they are with it, or they don't care about perfecting using a Sword, then they aren't a Swordsman. King uses his Sword to compliment his fighting style. He doesn't use it as his primary focus of fighting.

I would understand all these efforts if Zoro said "Not a swordsman? Man... Time to lose..." but he cemented it as clear as it gets, he aint losing no matter what so what are Anti-Zolo Pirates even trying to achieve after such a declaration from Zoro?
