I don't even think Tashigi is still a captain in terms of strength. Both him and Tashigi are going to get promotions soon.
It'd be a real disappointment for Oda to basically cut Smoker and Tashigi out of the story for the past 3 arcs only to have them have made zero progress
Chapter 506. After finding out about Rayleigh identity. The only one among crew who stayed silent and was probably thinking back lol(Chopper doesn't count since he didn't know anything about outside of Drum):
Pretty sure franky seeing Roger pirates was decided from way back.

My issue is that it makes zero sense for Coby to have unlocked haki pre-skip, something only achieved by Luffy and maybe Zoro, train for 2 years under Monkey D Garp, the strongest marine ever, and still be a fodder like everyone claims.
realistically, unlocking haki pre-skip and training it for over 2 years by Garp should have given Coby better CoO than Sanji(tbh they are about the same in terms of haki feats).
not to say that he is on par with the m3, just that he is definitely worth more than a captain and shouldn't be judged by rank alone. imo, the only reason he isn't vice admiral is because he is an 18 year old and doesn't have the experience to be VA.
Coby simply doesn't possess natural God-given talent like Luffy, Sanji etc.
He's actually far from it.
He has to work, work, work to improve, while other natural fighters improve much faster and easier.
He literally got neg-diffed pre-skip despite having learnt rokushiki techniques, because having learnt it just wasn't enough.
Same way how Zoro showed Tashigi post-skip that he is in another universe powerlvl-wise, despite her also having learnt rokushiki, haki (against Monet) and having the same rank as Coby.
That's why him being an admiral will also only happen waaaay down the future.
Never understood how some legitimately think Coby will present any kind of challenge to Luffy EVER. Even when he becomes an Admiral, Luffy will have surpassed even Prime Roger.

Because there is one thing that has to go into your head: Simply "unlocking" haki has nothing to do with strength or fighting skills.
Heck, little Aisa on Skypiea unlocked CoO at age 3 and nobody mistakes her for a talented fighter. Even freakin Usopp casually "unlocked" CoO on Dressrosa.
Now that I think about it, didn't Big Mom say it was due to Roger's voice of all things, that he was able to decipher the Poneglyp? Same with Rayleigh who indicated that Roger could write in this ancient language due to the VOAT. When Robin asked how he did it, he didn't say there was a guy with them that could read it. But just that Roger hat the VOAT.
Now suddenly Oden is the guy translating.
I doubt that Oda didn't consider Oden in these moments. Oda is too much of a forward planner.
Roger, Rayleigh, and Scopper is the core of Roger pirates, just as Luffy, Zoro, and Nami is the core of Strawhat pirates and the trigger of One Piece....
The harmony of Captain, Firsmate, and Navigator....

The way Yonkouprod hyped it, I thought this was going to be a beastly chapter. I mean it was fine, but the way he hyped it up it's as if we saw what the OP was.

Technically we were right in front of the One Piece. That last doublespread took place on Raftel and Roger & Co. were directly looking at the One Piece and just found out all the mysteries of the world (void century, will of D, ancient weapons).
So in a sense it was a monumental chapter.

Sure narratively it is a very important chapter but I just don't think the hype from yonkouprod was applicable in this case. However that is just my opinion.
