Tenguyama Hitetsu is supposed to be Ushimaru's teacher. According to a legend, the famous samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune (whose childhood name was Ushiwakamaru) learned kenjutsu from the king of the tengu.

So I think Ushimaru would be younger than Hitetsu if he were still alive.

If Ushimaru was 35-40 in the flashback, he’d still be young enough to have Hitetsu as a teacher (assuming that they were master-pupil) and he wouldn’t be too much older than Dragon in the current day, so him being Zoro’s dad isn’t TOO far fetched

ushimaru cuts the chain not the seastones.the seastone is the shackles while the chain isnt.thats why Yamato still wear the same shackles untill she became adult and Luffy crushes the seastonecuff.
