Thing is that enma's ability was never mentioned during the oden flashback

It was mentioned when Enma itself was introduced. What do you think is the meaning of "only Oden could ever tame Enma." ? It literally implies Oden tamed Enma and it's haki sucking impulses, just like what Zoro's gonna do.

Mastering it won't remove the fact that enma draws out haki tho

It doesn't increase anything it wastes more haki than he wants.
No he never used any haki at all on that first kaido hit probably because he was holding back enma wasting it. So he had to let it go.

We were told the sword's only issue is dragging out a user's haki beyond what they desire.
We were also shown that not happening at all with Oden.

We don't really know how oden used it

I doubt mastering enma = removing the ability to release massive amounts of haki

Oden probably just learned to control his own haki, but still used enma in order to increase his ap

It was never state that Zoro couldn't unleash all his haki to justify the need of Enma to do it for him.

So Enma once mastered is just a normal sword with that particulary rank.

I guess Zoro said beat him or fight him. Did he said killed? Don't remember. Yamato too.

The swod's only ability is helping the user channel more haki

And we weren't shown oden stating anything about enma

He never explicitly stated that he overcame the curse to the point where it's non existant

His mastery over his haki is just that strong, but enma still boosts him a little

Why do you think enma was presented as an op sword and the only weapon that left a scar on kaido?
