Putting someone down doesn't mean your going to win. Katakuri dropped Lufffy a million times. People get hurt on the floor all the time.

Reading the chapter, the old Oden would attack Kaido and Orochi 5years ago judging by Kaido words. And in that case probably Oden would gain Hyo and the whole country as back up and probably would take out Kaido of wano but remember his Meeting with Orochi, Oden remembers his words about Toki. Literally in this case Toki is the reason why Oden wait 5 years and don't do anything. Toki character is still to mysterious...
