General & Others Say a criticism about a character you love

The goal of this thread is to admit that even if you love a character in One Piece, he/she isn't perfect and that there is as least one thing you dislike about him/her.

I will start with my favorite admiral, Fujitora. While he's one of my very favorite marines and characters in One Piece I think he drops his guard too often and too easely as shown with him using too much his meteor technique in Dressrosa and him allowing Luffy (and possibly the Revos too) to hit him.

Sanji - I don't understand how he was planning to make it back to Zou all by himself from WCI but he really didn't have a choice but to go.

When it comes to an external situations, Oda should've given him a fight with either Oven or Daifuku (like minimum 2 chapters) would've done a lot. His feats were decent and I liked how Oda focused on his cooking. But a little fight would've brought it home. Honestly if Sanji got a fight like that, the whole arc would've been on par with sone of the greats

I really hate how inconsistent Sanji is in general. I get Oda is trying to do a lot with his character. But he keeps on contradicting himself, and he acts different to how he was at first. He used to fight as much as LuZo, but now he only fights to protect people. Like before when you pissed Sanji off, he would destroy you. Especially if you hurt a women. But now trash like Vergo and Daifuku go around hurting women, and he lets Vergo escape and doesnt even try against Daifuku, even though he had multiple chances.

His cooking and hate for his familiy is also heavily inconsistent. For him starting WCI, stating he only cooks for his friends. Which isnt true, since his first arc hes also cooked for enemies. But then at the end of the arc he also serves his enemies.

Then he says he will never wear the trashsuit, but then whips it out as soon as someone shows a little threat. Like come on he barely even tried against Pageone, yet hes already whipping out the RS. Its like Luffy going G4 from the start and oneshotting someone. How was one kick enough to gauge P1's strength. Its so retarded. And hes lack of intimidation is truly frightening. Like where is scary Sanji gone.

I want more of this

I think Oda is truly lazy with Sanji's combat and confused with Sanji's character. Which isnt a good combo. Sanji's strength literally depends on the plot, and rarely does the plot even favour Sanji anymore. Hes always nerfed in his situations either physically or mentally. The only time he wasnt was against Doffy....and poor boi didnt even know what was happening.

Well this is all my pre Wano frustations. Lets just hope he does better since he isnt the main focus anymore. I feel as if since DR, the central SH after Luffy was Sanji. So since the Sanji saga is over. He could hopefully resume to being himself. And hopefilly getting rid of the RS.

Franky is too amazing sometimes and it makes everyone else look like trash which is sad

But honestly im a little sad he doesn't do some of his old jokes as much like playing guitar, random dancing, talking about how super his week is, etc.

Also i didnt really care much for his connection to the tonttatas to the point where would help them whatever luffy said. If he was gonna do that oda really should of fleshed out there bond which he really didn't

Garp. He should have chosen his family over his duty. I know it was hard since he has been in the marine for 50+ years but family comes first imo.
Absolutely agree. I really didn’t like his stance of duty over family but I think it was somewhat understandable. Choosing between being a good grandfather vs a good Marine, he chose the latter for the sake of justice. But what baffled me was when he snapped and tried to kill Akainu AFTER Akainu killed Ace. Not only was it useless at that point, he failed at both being a Marine and being a Grandfather
