2. The death thing literally hints to ashura and its path having to defeat and endure even death to become more powerful. Oda is literally setting up his powerup via death reaper

To be honest, it doesn't seem like you need experience with CoC to be able to use ACoC well considering the application is entirely different

ACoC seems more similar to Ryuo/ACoA which is what Luffy trained in Udon. To me it makes more sense to explain it that way than by saying his specialty is CoC
