Zorogirls in damage control mode
Can't wait for their reaction next chapter when Luffy descends from the sky like Jesus and whoops Kaido's ass while Zoro's still having nightmares about Brook
Ha. I was right the drum of liberation is Luffy's heart. And its possible its connected to his awakening. Joyboy must really have used his fruit 800 yrs ago and this is the same heartbeat hes had when when he awakened his power hence why Zunisha thinks its Joyboy
While the speech bubble technically says "nika", it doesn't say "Nika" as in that Sun God's name (as a comparison, 3時 is read as "sanji", but that doesn't mean that it refers to the character Sanji).
We weren't told nor was it implied that his heart stopped akin to Enel. They only assumed Luffy died because his voice disappeared which is never an indicator of someone's death.
Sure we weren't ''told'', but as the saying goes ''Show don't tell'' and in this case we got both the voice coments and a panel of a dead looking Luffy with silence (sfx is screams from below) followed by a close up with a heartbeat sfx, enough to imply his voice being gone before was more serious than usual.

Go read the second page stuff of the spoilers images thread. There is sfx over a closeup of luffy's body, the closeup meaning silence as in no heartbeat, he is dead. And then when the drums are mentioned we get another close up of his chest with an sfx for heartbeat. They explain it in the images spoilers thread. *although I personally think it will be some sort of well he wasn't actually dead, his heart just stopped for a little bit
