You know what would hurt more... is if Sanji gets to clash with Kaido, and Zoro never meets him.
The last time Zoro fought the main villains: he got wrecked , even Hody captured him.
Kizaru (sabaody Main Anatagonist) Enel (skyepea) Lucci (EL) Buggy trashed him,
They think this time is different.
Luffy is the one surpassing Oden not Zoro.
Zoro plot is linked to orochi and his squad
Luffy Kidd Law plot is linked to Kaido BM

Kyoshiro is honestly his best shot this arc for a badass samurai fight tbh
Like i still believe yasu's execution low key set up zoro vs kyoshiro and sanji vs drake.
And while zoro doesn't really care for kyroshiro much he does want revenge on orochi and theyre both connected to hiyori.
And imo while hes probably not a "bad guy" i still believe hes gonna stay on orochi's side with that samurai loyalty (kinda like Bellamy to doffy but less sad lol). And yes i realize hes still in wano and not onigashima but don't think that means he's done.

While luffy was getting chased by big meme in wci. Getting dogwalked by kaido. Zoros been playing the role of mc throughout wano forming bonds with the people of wano. It’s still too early to say zoros failed in gathering the samurai. Zoro has done more in wano than luffy. All the straw hats got arcs why not zoro? Whether you like it not wano is zoros arc. Zoro is also a main character. Deal with it.
Zoro could literally get the last hit to slay kaidou but he'll most likely be the one who cuts kaidou which allows Luffy to defeat him.
Timeline of Zoro during Wano Raid
Zoro fights Kyoshiro or Smoothie, and shows all of his post timeskip training which means Asura.
Zoro the fights King who probably has a black blade or some special form of armament. He learns how to cut fire after battling King's flames. His haki blooms as a result but he barely defeats King and he's at death's door. Maybe he opens his eye. He definitely learns whatever King knows.
Zoro makes it to kaidou's location. Everyone hears that he defeated King. Kaidou can't believe it and maybe attacks the almost dead Zoro.
Luffy stops Kaidou, Zoro tells luffy to hold off Kaidou for a bit, he will cut him.
Zoro is taken back to his fight vs Daz Bonez, the breath of all things. Every substance has a breath. He can hear Kaidou's scales breathing. He's taken back to Mihawks words about black blades, and his master koushiro.
Zoro jumps or is catapulted into the sky. Kaidou fires Boro breath at Zoro but he cuts through it. And then the moment comes where Zoro cuts through Kaidou's scales, sending the dragon back to the earth. Luffy takes advantage of this and defeats Kaidou with a final blow.

Luffy gathered the samurai mate, he got the Yakuza bosses and hyogoro. Zoro didn’t do anything except getting lost, fucking up kinemons plan and meeting the residents of ebisu. That’s not being the mc. Luffy meeting tama, fought Yokozuna and Holdem, freed okobore and brought them food. Fought kaido, went to udon. Act 2 more than half of it was focused on Luffy and udon. Ending the act with Luffy splitting the tree and saying just you wait kaido.
