If Oda didn't say:
  • He was a Kurozumi.
  • An actor.
  • Wanted to die.

We'd at this point have no evidence as to why he's the culprit or likely the culprit.
First of all, it's part of a plot twist that such information is hidden from us. If Oda told us he was a Kurozumi, it would be too obvious. Apart from that, there were various (slight) hints pointing towards Kanjuro.

And fighting Jack for 5 days, being tortured and having their limbs cut off, is surely more of a proof of their loyalty than what Kanjuro did.

No one cut off one of his limbs :kayneshrug:
Same can be said about Kinemon, Raizo, Okiki, etc.

In fact, Orochi said he didn't believe the scabbards were alive.

This panel makes it impossible for the reader to even entertain a traitor amongst the scabbards because why can't he believe they're alive even though a scabbard is telling him he is alive and the others are alive?

There's literally little to no hints because what's applicable to claiming Kanjuro as the traitor applies to all other scabbards.

Don't have to fight 5 days to prove loyalty.

He'd proven loyalty for 30+ years which is why Kinemon said he didn't believe he was a traitor to begin with.

Raizo also didn't do much to prove loyalty.

By that logic, I could just as well claim Raizo was the traitor.

There's as much evidence for Raizo or Kinemon or Kiku being the traitor as there is for Kanjuro. In essence, there's literally no evidence to pinpoint any scabbard.

More so, Orochi said he didn't believe they're alive implying he's not been in contact with a scabbard in order to believe they're alive, thus we wouldn't even be able to blame Kanjuro as a traitor at that point.

What Oda essentially did was not provide evidence and then make up evidence in the latest chapter to make him the traitor. There's no evidence in previous chapters he's a traitor other than the fact Oda just made him the traitor in this chapter.

He said Inuarashi and Nekomamushi can't be traitors because they proved loyalty. So did Kanjuro.

If you read the spoilers, the reason why Kinemon couldn't believe him initially was because he had proven loyalty.

The person who made that video got it right, granted, their reasoning is not correct. In essence, he made a good guess.

There was no evidence or much hint.

He said Kanjuro telling Shinobu to calm down = His wanting Law to get cut? Looks more like he's actually trying to calm her down. That's what an ally does. Calms people down and stops them from acting irrational.

He says Hawkins using Kairoseki nails against Law is proof Kanjuro was the culprit. Hawkins fights with nails in general. Why wouldn't he have Kairoseki nails to fight DF users to begin with?

His reasoning is incorrect, there really was no hint or evidence.

It was literally Oda choosing to making Kanjuro the culprit which
1. His resemblance to an artist doesn't really indicate he was acting. There's a lot of reference to Kabuki.

2. The birds do not necessarily indicate anything other than we see birds. Do the birds look like drawings? Not to my recollection.

3. As you said, Kinemon and Kanjuro knoew. Therefore, we could have said Kinemon was the traitor, but is there evidence? No, and the same case can be said for Kanjuro. There was really nothing outstanding.

4. A Kurozumi got access to Momo's face. Anyone who can take on the apperance of others can infiltrate anywhere. Someone who can change identity doesn't exactly need an insider to let them infiltrate. Could just appear as a kid and enter the Kozuki family. It's easy is my point.

5. That's not proof. Anyone could have been the spy if Oda wanted it to be.
I agree it was hard to figure out , i initally did feel it was kanjuro but after the flashback it was hard to tell who it was.

I had kiku in my option as well. Only thing she couldn't be traitor was she didn't raizo's location.

Only thing i could tell it was kanjuro because only he knew of raizo , isnt it weird what led jack back to Zou easily . Kinemon proved his loyalty , i even thought him to be traitor as well but he tested his loyalty well.

I would say this was hard sell out , it was hard to figure out why traitor was ready to die with the scabbards.

Kanjuro should have revealed himself back then when scabbards were about die. There was no reason from him to sacrifice himself .

I do think kanjuro did care about

I don't think I could have figured out the traitor was Kanjuro even if I read Dressrosa to last week's chapter for 5 years straight, lol.

At one point, we said carrot, then Shinobu, then we said literally every character under the sun.

So the prophecy said 9 shadows will appear and bring the dawn.

I guess it means the SHs are the 9 shadows then since Kanjuro is apparently not going to be going up against Orochi.

It also means that Jimbei will not be coming to Wano if the 9 shadows are the current SH roster.

There are maniacs who live to die for someone's else cause.

However there was no reason for him to betray the alliance, oden gave him new life he even got along well with alliance. I suppose this was before Orochi rose up.

Why did he have sudden change of heart after meeting Orochi?

Maybe kanjuro could have a change of heart in middle of story. XD
