I do think Act 3 ends in 1053 and we start off 1054 with something related to Shanks given that its the 25th anniversary as well

Also, we are expected to get bounties in 1053 so shanks seeing that and starting to move might happen

He mentions in the letter, he's just taking the break in the beginning of the summer with recommendation of his staff.

It's has to do with timing for the Netflix show, film Red and planning for the final storyline, not because Wano ends next week.
