Maybe Kizaru is a proficient swordsman and his confrontations with both Rayleigh and Shanks prove that using his named light-sword is the best option against a swordsman, better than his laser shots, which said swordsman could just dispel with either ranged slashes or, in Shanks' case, with CoC. I'd wait for the actual scenes to see how it was coreographed. Shanks doing a little swordplay while may or may not dominating and while maybe not even coating his attacks with his tremendous Haoshoku doesn't mean much.

Yea maybe it is the best option up close. But that only highlights how versatile he is, that he even has that option to match top tier swordsman at their own game.

And if he has awakening I have a hard time believing it's a better option than that.

Btw Kizaru never opted for a sword against WB, went straight for yasakani no magatama. So clearly he has options (probably even better) from a range.

Being a Yonkou doesn’t mean they’re on the same level of strength, it’s just the highest ceiling for a pirate who hasn’t got the One Piece, crowning them as PK.
Whitebeard, sick or healthy, would mop the floor with Shanks.

The guy who literally hyped up CoC post-TS put Yonko & Admirals on the same pedestal, you think he didn't take into account CoC's prowess while having CoC himself? Lol. Also stating there's countless mfs who have it.

The discussion isn't about power of CoC it's about what the sweat drop indicates. The fact there is a discussion going on over a sweat drop is completely ridiculous, and what's more ridiculous is using a sweatdrop to talk about powerscaling. They don't mean jackshit unless they're consistant. Just like Ray's sweatdrops didn't mean jackshit when Oda proceeded to remove em for rest of their fights even during closeups of Rayleigh.

If it happened during Shanks CoC release, it indicates nothing more than surprise, as in the case of Kuzan/Sengoku at MF. If it happened during the fight, it again means nothing as seen in the case of Ray & Kizaru.

he only lost because he acumulated dmg due to dirty tactics or his illness (he was stabbed by Squardo, and his illness kicked in and he started spitting blood which akainu took advantage of by magma fisting him)

Yes, I agree. He has good swordplay, he uses strong kicks, he spams lasers, pretty versatile. Though I would disagree with the narrative that "Kizaru can keep up with swordsmen in their own game", since it implies that swordsmanship is just a side power inferior to his other abilities, when in fact I think that Kizaru is no weaker in CqC with his named blade Ama no Murakumo as compared to spamming Yasakani no Magatama from range. He just uses the fighting style most suited for the situation.

Plus, his worth depends on Shanks using or not using Haoshoku infusion too. Rayleigh for example didn't use Haoshoku, while being an old rusty man, yet went toe to toe with Kizaru, while Shanks is at his prime and has the strongest Haoshoku displayed yet.

For Shanks & Mihawk, when it comes to combat their most renowned accomplishment is the fight against each other, hence it's also what WB mentions to Shanks.

The bounty doesn't mean much, as Marines only give bounty when a big event happens, two people having a duel with each other when there's nothing at stake on a larger scale basis isn't really gonna give them some large bounty.

IE, Sabo got a 600 mil bounty for Dressrosa but even then was already much more powerful than what that bounty inidicates.
