this got me thinking naruto sage mode was op that he defeated pein, but why Jiraiya cant beat him? this shit doesnt make sense right?

i think there’s one factor why Jiraiya cant beat him.. its because things changed, he didnt expect it that pein was one of his students!

we know Jiraiya dont just take students like it was nothing.. all of his students think of him as their father figure, a friend they can ran too, and all of that, so in a way when he fought pein and when jiraiya knew it was his students who became pein, i think Jiraiya just wont be able to kill him, like no matter what he do he just cant.. remember the time when kakashi said the same thing about his students? when kakashi remembered what the third hokage felt when he fought orochimaru that it must be hard to do it.. what if Jiraiya cant do it at all like no mayter what he just cant?

jiraiya love his first students so much that he even wrote his first book because of him think about it he loves his students. like i dont think jiraiya would be able to kill one of his students who he emotionally attached to i dont think he has the guys to do that even for the village one fact that i think he wont its because he dont want to be a hokage.

Jiraiya was a trickier Shinobi with many more ninjutsu than Naruto. If he knew the truth behind Pein earlier, he might’ve been able to locate and kill Nagato. He could never beat Pein In a 1v1.

Beside's Jiraiya's sage mode being incomplete, he was also facing an oponent/s who he had no good intel on. As he figured out what's going on he was ofc shocked that it was his former student he was facing, and that impacted him enough emotionally to nerf him.

you know that got me thinking about kashinkoji what if he wasnt really a clone like they said? instead jiraiya and amado hid this to them and work a planned to defeat momoshiki and their plans literally amado bringed him back to full health. since he already knew his destiny was done that naruto was the child of prophecy he knew that he got another destiny! by stopping momoshiki’s plan

It was thanks to pipes and all that he was able to set sage mode and also able run and use genjutsu. In an open area that won't happen

Intel or not he would get bodied. All ninjutsu gets absorbed and deva path negates taijutsu

Naruto attacked one path when it was attacking Tsunade. When Naruto was fighting deva path the strongest path was unable to use his ability. Jiraiya doesn't have rasen shurinken. Pain didn't want to kill naruto.

Knowing abilities don't do anything when your enemy is outright superior. Only reason jiraiya managed to beat 3 pains is due to genjutsu which pain didn't knew was in jiraiya's arsenal
