It is not vague to analyze the panels.
In Rayleigh's first appearance, Zoro and Sanji's reactions were highlighted, not just Zoro.
Back to the time skip, at the meeting of Luffy and Rayleigh, it was Zoro and Sanji who were there meeting Luffy first, defeating the pacifists and witnessing that dialogue Ray&Luffy, it wasn't just Zoro.
Zoro and Sanji are also given prominent panels with Rayleigh when they return to Saboady.
The first time Rayleigh fights, he kicks and interrupts Kizaru's kick, then uses swords.

None of this is just coincidence.

Rayleigh mentioning ''young ladies'' in his intro, and drinking sake, and old Zoro and Sanji are identical to them, physical traits mirror a lot with both, it's very obvious.

That's pretty obvious, Rayleigh looks like both.
Raleigh 40Y / Sanji 40Y and Rayleigh 60Y / Sanji 60Y are extremely similar.
if you insist on it chaves.

Don't blame me, nobody forced Oda to draw that page. But I agree with you, Zoro is not Rayleigh's clone. They are comparable as PK right hand man.
yeah the roles as the n2 in the pk crew are of course alike
but as far as the story goes, whether its inherited will, or other characters noting how similar they are
none of that exist with zoro and rayleigh but its clearly stated with roger and luffy.

Honestly Rayleigh isn't really a parallel to Zoro but serves as Zoro's celling, someone Zoro will surpass, just like Mihawk
So whatever level Prime Rayleigh is, Zoro will surpass him :pepehawk:

Parallel to be surpassed
  • Mei ou -> en ou
  • Shi ru ba zu (Silvers) 4.683 -> Kyutoryu 9106 (4.9106 B) as Zoro isnt a captain, if he is then he is 5B ++,
  • The sake of 'sake' 'sake', pun intended
So he will be the only one in the span of next year to 40 years later who makes other Yonkou-Admirals in 3B++/4B++ to shit their pants / sweating / retreat calmly. Even taken seriously by 5B men hype as WB, Roger, Garp, Rocks, Law-Kid if oda intend to force rivalry, Gorosei.

The one who comes from 'En'. Shinigami no Zoro lol

similarities
not parallel

luffy doesnt even fight like roger does
doesnt have the same scars
so why is he a parallel?
This

you would never see a character in the story echo similar with rayleigh and zoro . its forced.
En-Ou, Mei-Ou is literally the most blatant parallel outside of Luffy/Roger stuff lol. Come on.

Oda giving Zoro an attack mode and a proclamation that is literally mirror of Rayleigh's... it doesn't get any more blatant than that.

Of course the marine hunter thing was made to mirror Zoro. That's literally the biggest narrative reason behind it lol

And Zoro IS a Mihawk parallel in a way. He'll become the next WSS over Mihawk. They share that mirroring position.

Idk what your definition of parallel is, maybe we're looking at different outcomes. But En-Ou, Mei-Ou think is something Oda did explicitly and specifically as a fun little "connection" or "mirror" between Zoro and Ray. Just like how Mihawk's marine hunting was obviously done to mirror Zoro's pirate hunter epithet. I think we can agree on that?

I think of it characters who are analogous to the other , their goals, will, down to some of the things they say. Most important way to spot a clear one is when characters in the story point it out .

"And Zoro IS a Mihawk parallel in a way. He'll become the next WSS over Mihawk. They share that mirroring position."
definitely Not. thinking about it in this manner is what opens the sad can of worms that people try to act are equivalent to what you might see in luffy -- joyboy or luffy/roger.

To me, parallels and mirrors are are basically heavily relating one character to the other with obvious author's intent.

For example, Oda did marine hunter thing to parallel/mirror Mihawk with Zoro, which he is.

Oda did En-Ou and Mei-Ou essentially as an obvious parallel to Zoro and Rayleigh- RHM or essential RHM of their respective generation's Pirate Kings.

Basically, two characters being narratively tied to each other in some manner, be it by the roles they fulfill, being X of X generation, or just all around being closely related to each other as a benchmark or just in general, etc.

the roles law and kidd fulfill are pretty similar to wb and shiki
being the 2 closest people in his generation to compete with luffy
from your definition and example
you should also agree they are shiki and wb parallels.

Powerlevel matters though. We know for a fact EoS Zoro will be on Rayleigh's level, at worst equal. Kidd/Law will never be EoS Luffy's equal and thats why they cant be this generation's Whitebeard. Its a similar situation to why Coby/Smoker cant be Luffy's Garp. Again, I am not saying Zoro is Rayleigh's clone. He is more similar to Luffy than Rayleigh, he is not as smart and rational as Rayleigh.

All of this mumbo jumbo about Rayleigh totally being Zoro and Sanji rolled up into one cigarette is almost as bad as Law and Kid being Luffy's Whitebeard (it's obviously Blackbeard) because of friendly rivalry and romantic picnics by the waterfall. A complete misunderstanding of certain themes and confirmation bias.

Gaban is the closest thing to a "Sanji" in the Roger Pirates.
