No way is the script going to keep pushing the Kujas as the dumbest of the series believing that Hancock' powers come from this curse when in this chapter she says so explicitly in front of everyone that her abilities are a DF. All you have to do is add 1+1 to see that this gorgon story is just bullshit.

She turned people in stone in front of the whole island using her hands before when they had Luffy fight in the arena. OP characters are not known to be very smart, as a fake mustache is enough to fool someone.
