Like what was even the point of creating Yamato in the first place other than Oda trying to be cute with his dumbass subversions?
Before people say, ”Yamato was needed to protect Wano from people like Green Bull”, why couldn’t Oda just make the scabbards Not pathetic fodder and actually make them strong enough to defend their country themselves? Completely skipping creating an entirely new character in the process.
All that panel time she got could have gone to actually developing the Scabbards. Because of how badly they were treated, I didn’t give a fuck when Ashura Doji or even Izo died.
Well i'm completly disinvested on this aswell, got super into the 13 Sh theory, the Zodiac animal theory lined up perfectly with Yamato and Carrot joining, everything seemed to be in place for them to join and we got jackshit.
I mean, i still hold on to the idea there will be 13 SHs because it makes too much sense, but Oda just has lost the plot, the story just became 50x more boring

And i'll never get over all the paralels that exist, Yamato being Oden so she should sail with the PK, Carrot being the mink so she should be loyal and stoaway.
Even when you look at Yamato and Carrot, they're exact oposites
- one was given low protagonism but stayed for many years, the other was given high protagonism but came out of nowhere
- one was too strong, the other was viewed as weak,
- one was going to be forced to be a ruler but then ended up free to travel, one was free to travel but ended up forced as a ruler

Yeah, Yamato's character pretty much got ruined when she chose to stay behind. Saying how she was gonna travel with the Straw Hats from now on and hinting at it from the very beginning made it seem like a guaranteed win.
She even had a connection to not just Luffy but ACE AS WELL! Keep in mind only 6 of the Straw Hats met him (not counting Vivi), yet she decidedly to stay behind in Wano and be one of Momonosuke's babysitters practically...
Like, living the way Oden did? She managed to trick herself into believing she was him and thought Momonosuke was referring to her when he said he was gonna surpass Kozuki Oden in Chapter 1057.
The Oden gag was a bit funny in the beginning but it lasted for the rest of the arc and it made me dislike her, especially when she went as far as to call Momonosuke her son when they first met. What was that disrespect and unnecessary confusion?

You need to stop using “logic” and “consistency“ at this point of the story. All they do is lead you to disappointment. You need to start thinking in terms of “what would be funny” and “what would subvert expectations“ regardless of if it makes any sense.
