Let's summarize the "greatest" writing in fiction.
Yamato - a pointless character that repeats like a parrot from day one that she will sail with Strawhats. Until last chapter where she does 180.
Why introduce her in the first place? To annoy people with Oden cosplay? To stall Kaido? Others could have done that...
Followed up with Oden's journal - who is he fooling with this? Useless plot device that leads nowhere because of course he will not spill the beans.
What was the point of it?
Yamato was not pointless. She was introduced as Kaido's offspring. The one who would continue his legacy. But unlike Bigmom's Children, she rebelled against Kaido. And helped the Samurai who were the one of the only people that showed her kindness. I'll agree with you that Oden cosplay was retarded though. Who could have stalled Kaido from the Alliances side? Everyone else was either occupied or worn out. And she also serves as a guardian for Wano, because Kaido being gone is prime opportunity for someone else to swoop in and be a new dictator. So she serves purposes.
The oden Journal was never meant to reveal the secrets at all. That is for the Straw hats to find out themselves Almost everyone knew this. So that's not that big of a deal.
A time traveler, lady Toki - another pointless character with a pointless devil fruit... Why bother introducing her? We know sending Scabbards and Momo into the future was pointless since everyone survived anyway and Momo was aged to the stage he would have been anyway if he didnt jump into future.
Scabbards - Why bother with so many characters that havent achieved anything?
Toki's prophecy of Dawn - You will not find better writing than this. No dawn has been mentioned whatsoever at any point after the raid.
Toki was a missed opportunity i agree. But, we are for sure gonna have a flashback to the Void century. And she might very well be an important part of it. Not every single thing has to be revealed all at once. Build up and foreshadowing are literary devices to be used.
Scabbards. I agree that there were too many of them. But, they aren't pointless either. Kinemon, Kanjuro and The Dukes were all very essential. Kinemon and Kanjuro is self explanatory. The dukes were important in Zou. And Zou is very important due to their connection with Wano and Kozuki, The Road poneglph, and Zunisha. And they were alright in Wano and Onigashima too. Kiku is also alright. She served as example of too much kindness being a detriment. Ashura Doji, Denjiro and Kawamatsu, while a little useless, served purposes. That being, The Army, Inside Info on Kaido and Orochi forces and Onigashima layout, And the Weapons. While Oda could have condensed these 3 into maybe 2 or even 1, They did serve purposes.
And not to mention them being the people that are deserving of and yearning for Vengeance against Kaido. They were the once to start the War. Without them, this would all be pointless.
Toki's Prophecy - This was also a missed opportunity. I agree.
Opening Wano's borders - SIKE! The backstory of them being closed? SIKE!
Zunisha and WG ships - Fooled ya again! Stopped by to do nothing and dipped.
Remember how you thought that you would find out why Kaido is in Wano specifically? Think again, foo'!
Opening Wano's borders and Zunisha are still very important. Just because they didn't happen now doesn't mean they are bad. This is, once again, laying the ground work for the eventual events.
We did find out some stuff about Wano. The road poneglyph obviously. And also Pluton is there. And not to mention Sea stones. And i'm pretty sure we will find out more about it down the line. Wano importance, Opening Borders, Zunisha, Toki, Oden's journal. These things are all connected to the ultimate end goal. The void century secrets. So we will find out when we reach the goal. What these does is elevate the importance of the End goal, and give us some clues about it without completely telling us anything.
Imagine if a Murder mystery story just stated who was the murderer and how and why he did it, in the middle of the story. That would be what it's like if oda revealed all these right here. No point in the rest of the journey. Or at least most of the mystery and excitement would be gone.
The capital citizens - The clueless souls are still unaware of what happened. Someone told them that some guy saved them and dipped.
Sukiyaki - One chapter he says he doesnt want his grandchildren to know about him but changed his mind in the very next one.
Wano's special ore and Kairoseki - Remember that one? Neither do I because the brilliant writer didnt mention it once.
The citizens finding out wasn't a big deal and wasn't made to be either. And legends are often shared rather than seen.
Sukiyaki was found out by the others iirc. And then he decided to confess. Also, the enemy was vanquished, so he didn't have to hide anything anymore to those close to him. He is still hidden from the rest of the Wano people.
Wano ore, It will also come into play later imo. The Vegapunk are has already mentioned Pyroblion, so it's possible we will learn more about it soon.
Remember how Queen Mama Chanter observed the waterfall? Another L for Smoothie. As incompetent as Oda in Wano...
Shameless movie promotion with Shanks and GreenBull - Absolutely no purpose in Wano. Showed up one chapter and dipped in another.
The wholw BM pirates were shoe horned in. I agree. We might get a little more out of them though, who knows.
GB was not without purpose in Wano. He does have a point in going there. But he was dumb about it, and that's his personality. Too eager to impress Akainu i guess. He served as the reason for Yamato staying in wano too.
Shanks and team was shoehorned in as well. I agree. But, Shanks made GB back away from wano. If he hadn't, an Admiral would have died. So not completely without purpose.
Kaido's and Big Mom's Awakening - pfft! You wish!
Remember how Kaido isnt the one waiting for Joyboy but it is Alber instead? Remember the awesome explanation of why? Yeah!
Remember the delusions of Scabbards about Nittoryu being the greatest sword style? Fools are still believing in it...
Remember the awesome Kaido flashback? Some crumbs are all the author was capable of.
Wano, the city of gold - What gold?
The fate of Kaido and Big Mom - is it too much to ask for that we dont have to speculate? Or keeping the audience busy is such a priority?
The endless build-up between a samurai and dragon - Should we pretend that it isn't there?
Nidai Kitetsu - Why bother waving it in front of Zoro's and our eyes when nothing will be done with it in the first place?
Remember how Zoro avenged Yasu - One of the best parts of Wano.
Zoro's lookalikes - Ryuma and Ushimaru. Even the Sword God of Wano had the rug pulled beneath his feet. Blind Yamato?
Kaido and BM awakening - We still don't know much about it. But it was bad writing that they didn't have it. I agree.
Arbel's race and their history is most likely gonna come up again. So, we will learn about it.
Scabbards nitoyru has nothing to do with bad writing. Them believing in Oden's words is not bad. Oden was cocky.
Kaido flashback - It was short i agree. But i'm sure we will learn more when we learn about Rocks. That was the implication in the Flashback too.
Remember Zoro's payoff for encountering Death? - Payoff for hinting at it for several chapters?
Hiyori - What purpose did she serve other than providing background tunes during acts ending and starting?
Remember the goodbyes to Shusui on Ryuma's grave - What an absolute gem of a plotline.
Onimaru the mythical fox - What about him?
Remember how Luffy told Momo to show his flag to invading forces? - Fool couldnt scare away GB while being there, a flag will do better?
"This was a story how once mighty samurai restored their glory" - What an absolute joke.
Zoro's name reaching the heavens and shaking the world? - We can forget that part of his dream. Even more important stuff is not guaranteed.
Zoro reaper stuff, i'm pretty sure it will come in to play once again.
Hiyori served as an emotional sink for Wano. While some of her execution was bad.
Ryuma grave - I agree, that was bad.
Onimaru served his purpose. He collected weapons for like 10 years alone.
Flag stuff - An admiral is not like any other enemy. There won't be many enemies of that level coming to Wano often. So, Luffy's flag, along with Yamato and the scabbards will deter any enemy from Wano along with it's natural barriers. And the flag thing is symbolic, to show that Wano is officially Luffy's territory.
Pluton - Forget it. Empty hype and irrelevant whether it is in Alabasta or in Wano, we will never get to see it since Franky is supposed to build one.
Pluton will come in to play when Wano is opened. It ties into that and zunisha stuff and Wano importance. An ancient weapon is not pointless.
Kaido on samurai being weak fools - Pretending he didnt cross Zoro's path.
Ignoring decades of build-up while introducing pointless plotlines that went nowhere. Just like pointless side characters that did nothing.
Remember the memorable, epic moment of Wano? If you do remind me because I don't.
What is it that we found out in Wano that we didnt know before that is crucial information?
Hell-bent on turning the MC into a Looney Toon despite the rest of the world not fitting him. Ruining everything he comes close.
Remember the reaction of the world to defeat of Kaido? One big fat zero. Now go and check back the reaction of the world to Doffy's defeat.
Zoro never called himself a Samurai. A samurai in OP is a warrior hailing from the nation of Wano. Zoro never said he was from wano, and Zoro has been a Straw hat pirate for years. Kaido can't read minds to know zoro's connection to wano lol. There was no build up for that either. Kaido said Wano Samurai were weak. And they were. They needed a ton of help after all. That's not bad writing. That's just characterization for Kaido.
There are many memorable moments in Wano. Oden boiling, Oden Flash back, Luffy chapter 1000. Chapter 1010. Bigmom's fall, Kaido's fall. Zoro vs King, Sanji vs Queen etc etc. Just cause you are biased and salty doesn't just magically erase these moments.
We don't have to find out some "crucial information" on every single arc. The strawhats gained Yonko level and notoriety and took down 2 Yonko with the alliance. Thats a worls changing event in OP. And the SHs got a step closer to Their main goal too.
And even then, we did learn important info in wano like Pluton's location, old wano etc etc. You are treating every arc like an info dump. That isn't organic story telling. We are supposed to know about things when they come into play. Not right when they are mentioned.
I don't have much opinion on Luffy G5. It's weird i agree. But it's not that out of place within the wacky world of one piece at all. I do hate how it ruined luffy's "hard work" though.
The reaction of the World to Kaido's and BM's defeat is what we are dealing with right now. Black beard and Shanks are making moves they wouldn't have made if Kaido and BM didn't lose. And we will see more of the consequences.
But, Doffy and Kaido are very different. Kaido was an emperor who ruled his territories with fear. Doffy was a Warlord who ruled a single kingdom, and he was the underworld broker. So when Doffy fell, there were no one that could fill his role right away because he had many connections and they were now lost. But that void did get filled by Buggy.
But, Kaido was a ruler. He wasn't a broker. So it was easy enough for someone to replace him and BM as a new power. And they did.
The reaction of the world would be to the ones who took them down. And from these last chapters, we have seen some of it. Black beard waiting to ambush one of the Captain trio is a direct reaction to Kaido's demise. And as the story progresses, We will see more reactions to Kaido's fall and The Stawhats rise.
The bottom line is, you think Wano should have just revealed all the secrets and information right away. That's not how Stories work.
And, none of these Plotlines were hyped as much as ZKK at all by zoro fans. ZKK was a failed theory from it's inception. Many of the dropped plotlines you laid out are supposed to happen later. But ZKK was not. Zoro stans took every little thing as evidence for it and deluded themselves into thinking that Zoro would actually kill the Main villain of an Arc that was built up for years. When a little common sense would have sufficed to ask yourselves "would oda reaally let Zoro shine more than the fricking MC and pirate jesus Monkey D fucking Luffy?"
Remember the rice bowl with the picture of a dragon? Tell me how that confirmed ZKK at the time? It didn't. But that didn't stop Zoro fans from acting like ZKK basically already happened when that color page dropped.
Confirmation Bias
The tendency to interpret new evidence as confirmation of one's existing beliefs or theories.
This literally describes Zoro fandom and ZKK. You guys ignored all the evidence and reason against ZKK. And selected only the evidence that were partial to the ZKK narrative. And when that didn't happen, basically the whole story was ruined for you guys. That was not Oda or Sanji fans or Luffy fans or anyone elses doing. That was all Zoro fans doing.
I might have made some mistakes or forgot something. So please do be mindful of that.
